I was counting on machida, having the size of advantage coming down in weight, but weidman is actually taller and a has longer reach
add age in, I don't know
I gotta feeling weidman is going to win by KO, machida didn't look impressive against mousasi, neither of them looked impressive, but then again their styles clash

Machida easily out-striked one of the best strikers in MMA, I would say that's impressive.

who's the last person mousasi KO'd gary goodridge, Machida darts in and out with his hands down too much, he was too fast for mousasi, we don't know how slow weidman is

I'm just thinking machida is gonna get caught wth a looping punch, or get timed darting in for a counter, I hope I'm wrong

He hasn't had many KO finishes as of late, but he's still one of the best strikers in MMA. And because of his excellent submission game, he doesn't need to rely on the KO.

yeah but when your fighting somebody with all the skills, it comes down to the hands at the end of the day, and mousasi was out classed badly, but at the same time machida didn't dazzle

weidman will not be able to take machida down, this fight will be settled on the feet, weidman as KO power with different kinds of strikes, machida's hands tend to drop often especially in the champion rounds

You're underrating Weidman's wrestling, it wouldn't surprise at all if Weidman were to get a TD (although it would difficult).

Rashard and Tito couldn't do it, don't even think jones took him down either
guys naturally bigger, stronger and best wrestlers in the division couldn't take him down, don't see how weidman will, he certainly won't be able to control him on ground and keep him there

machida is not anderson by any means in that regard

he will be taken down, he must win the fight on the feet

jones did take him down and dropped a vicious elbow on his head which basically lead to the ending of the dragon

Rashad didn't attempt a TD in the Machida fight. Jones, Davis and Hendo all took Machida down. Machida still has excellent TDD, but it's not impossible to take him down.

machida was a natural at 205, maybe he hydrates back to 200 for the fight

once again we're talking guys with higher wrestling pedigrees than weidman and LHW, also they couldn't keep him there Jones finished him standing

weidman couldn't keep anderson on the ground, its not going to control he fight on the ground, this fight will be settled on the feet

Weidman is not catching Machida with anything. He may have natural power but his striking is still developing. Machida barely throws in the beginning and only opens up when he knows his opponent has nothing. Weidman key to victory will be to pressure machida with threats of TD/clinch and stay active. Davis already showed the blueprint
