Before we even dig into this, this is a list composed by Empire readers, not the magazine itself:

30. Hulk
29. Superman Returns
28. The Rocketeer
27. Man of Steel
26. Cap 1
25. Chronicle
24. X-Men First Class
23. Thor
22. Spider-Man
21. Batman
20. Batman Begins
19. Dark Knight Rises
18. Hellboy 2
17. The Crow
16. Iron Man
15. Kick Ass
14. X Men Days of Future Past
13. Cap 2
12. Blade
11. The Incredibles
10. Guardians of the Galaxy
9. Watchmen
8. Unbreakable
7. Batman Returns
6. Spider-Man 2
5. Superman
4. Avengers
3. Superman 2
2. X2
1. Dark Knight

It's wild to me that they voted Watchmen as a top 10 flick..and Unbreakable for that matter. Not to say they aren't good but there are several movies on this list I'd put ahead of both of them..and batman returns.

My Top 10:

10. XMen: DOFP or GOTG
9. Cap 2
8. Incredibles
7. Iron Man
6. Avengers
5. Batman 89
4. Superman
3. X2
2. Spider-Man 2
1. Dark Knight

So the beef is with the order then because all of those movies are on that list and outside of batman and iron man, they're all pretty high on a list of 30

Kickass is was a decent film but Batman Begins revitalized the brand that was damn near ruined after Batmana & Robin while adding a new perspective for the popular mass by explaining his origin.

Well then that begs the question: is the greatest flick based on impact or what you think makes a great film? I'm not arguing for kick ass being above batman begins but shouldn't its impact be separate of its quality?

You've got a point it's true the impact was bigger for Batman Begins but the quality of the film was also better on almost every aspect including director, cast ,script and everything else.

That I agree with which is why I don't agree with superman 1 and 2 being so high. I get the impact but I think there have been much better films made since then
