Its sensationalism writing, like people have already said. it's a soap opera. They don't create and build story lines or plots. Its just all the meat of the story. Hakeem gets kidnapped for a cliffhanger, then stays kidnapped for a 6 minutes in the next episode. Its just try and hit you over the head with next crazy moment after crazy moment.Its just written like it was written by someone who music business experience is having a subscription to vibe,the source,and xxl. They just take things that have happened in hip hops past and try and flip it. Suge knight hanging Vanilla Ice over that balcony = Jamal hanging dude over that balcony.Lucius going to jail and recording = gucci going to jail and recording.
empire isn't even believable as a record label/empire/conglomerate/corporation. They pretty much bend reality whenever they want something to go a certain way and prey on peoples ignorance about things. Hakeem and Jamal have apparently never signed recording contracts which allows them to come and go to which ever parent whenever they please.Andre is out as CFO of a publicly traded company then is bought back by Lucius in a finger snap like a board of investors would ok all these questionable moves and keep allowing this dysfunctional family of idiots to keep playing with their money. Family owned or not, no record label on earth going to let artist come and go as they depending on how they feel that day.They don't even feel the need to explain why a company thats a private conglomerate would have went public. We still don't know why they needed investors, when a private company goes public the want the extra money to do something bigger.They love ignoring the small stuff that makes a plot believable because they think the sensationalism will keep your mind off of it.
