I said it before and I'll say it again, I really don't get why he still wants to put out albums with so many songs. If there was ever someone that should just drop short EPs, its Em. Im a stan and not trying to listen to these long azz albums.Too much rappity rap

Side A was definitely too long with 17 actual songs (not counting the skits). Side B is 13, which is better for him. And Kamikaze was 11, which is even better. So I agree. Revival was somewhere around 190 songs I think...or maybe it just felt that way.

-Side B was made entirely during the pandemic. Because of the lockdowns and stay-at-home orders, all Eminem had time to do was write and record.

And this was the best he could come up with ??? :dwillhuh:

-Said that if he could, he would want to make songs like "Alfred's Theme" and "Tone Deaf" more often, but he knows he has to talk about serious issues, which is where songs like "These Demons" come in.

All mentioned songs are trash :skip:

Good post. Agree besides the bolded.
Swap Encore & Recovery and this is mine, ES & MMLP are interchangeable

also, it’s crazy how encore compares in hindsight, don’t get me wrong, for the most part it’s still pretty wack, but I remember when it dropped people thought it was the worst thing Eminem could ever drop...all these years later and Evil Deeds, Never Enough, Like Toy Soldiers, Mockingbird, Spend Some Time & Encore are better than nearly anything from his last 3 or 4 albums

This is true, but the lows on Encore are really low. Ass Like That, My First Single, Just Lose It, Big Weenie, Rain Man (could have been 10x better) Crazy In Love, One Shot 2 Shot. Mosh is dated because of the subject matter.

some of you putting TES at the top of the rankings reminds me how this guy was floating on every track on that album

very difficult for me to choose which one his best would be due to how larger than life MMLP was at the time. TES might have overall consistency on it but the singles of MMLP are legendary

ill have to probably tie it but respect to eminem for still having passion for this even in his own way, he couldve stopped and bathed in his cash for the rest of his life decades ago

It's not just that for me. It's the also fact that the album is lacking all of the chit we criticize Em for now. No obnoxious yelling, no Skyler Grey or Alex Da Kid, no Call Of Duty Anthems, no cringey elementary level punch lines, no flappin around like a bapkin rhymes, no "my last album sucked/was heavily criticized, but I'ma make it up to YOU!t" .. just straight flow and beautiful, memorable song writing about his life.

The Em we got now could never in his life make profound songs like White America or even Say Goodbye To Hollywood without some serious guidance. He could never make another "My Dad's Gone Crazy" or "Square Dance" ( which I believe is one of his TOP songs by FAR) without it being extra corny. On the Em Show, breh was telling a story with each bar -- now it seems he just wants to rhyme orange with door-hinge sandwiched between random thoughts on trap beats

Yup, Eninem Show was the best balance of Eminem the MC we ever got imo

Slim Shady LP was zany and over the top based on a character

Marshal Mathers LP was Personal about him as a person but also bordered on horror core with tracks about vividly killing his wife and carrying out school shootings

Eminem Show was Eminem the RAPPER, dope lyrics over mostly dope beats

always bugged me that he didn’t call it The Eminem LP
