6 months later, I popped this in the other day and honestly this was not a good sequel and nowhere near the original. It just doesn't have the replay value. Honestly I think I like "Relapse" better than this now that time has gone on.

It's strange, everyone at the time hated it and felt the accents were terrible but to me I liked the whole storytelling vibe, reminded me more of SSLP and MMLP than this album. MMLP 2 had some highlights but it was uneven. "Relapse" to me has some of his strongest songs post-overdose-addiction.

I wouldn't call it crack but it is definitely better than this. The music much more sense on that album. The accents did annoy me though. I just an't get through this MMLP2 album man. It's like a chore to listen to.

I know it's hard for people to admit it but "Relapse" is better than both "Recovery" and "MMLP2". Ironcially it's the lowest selling of the 3 cause I think it didn't appeal to Em's pop fans sans "We made You". "3 am" and "Stay Wide Awake" >>>>>>>> Anything off MMLP 2 and Recovery.

It's like 5 tracks I still bump and two of em were from the bonus cuts :snoop:

75% of the album just sounds obligatory.

musically it is garbage imo but lyrically he slaughtered that album imo.

I never listened to em for beats but I still say that's his overall best beat package.

I don't see why It should be hard, it ain't perfect just on the strength of crack a bottle interrupting the whole theme just because it happened to chart...but otherwise that shyt was solid, cohesive, lyrically crazy, actual dre production that doesn't suck...biggest complaint I remember was "accents" and he ditched them for this Gilbert Gottfried shyt.

Careful what you wish for :sas2:

Accents >>>>>>>>>> Screaming Eminem

"Crack A bottle" was a hit song and won a grammy but that was one of the worst hooks I've ever heard, really corny, lol. Dre came through on the beat though.

lol eminem has rapped over great beats before marshall mathers lp eminem show and slim shady lp so don't use that as a excuse for why i don't like relapse as much as u do.

I don't listen to bad guy anymore, LOVE brainless, and groundhog day, he wrecked that shyt, I like stronger too, guilty pleasure listening to em get his Peter Cetera on

:comeon:

I don't really consider what you like or don't like when I formulate my opinions, baby bubba.

And I never said he didn't rap on SOME great beats, but as far as just straight instrumentals go Relapse is his most consistent and whip accessible project. I actually prefer him to use simple/empty beats to give him the spotlight so that he can mold them into whatever it is..Recovery was "overproduced" in my opinion because a lot of those songs sounded cut and paste, like any rapper could have jumped on them and did whatever.

Ain't too many rappers I can think of that could rip a Metallica sample like that.
