Em spits his ass off this album - it's undeniable.

Even on Monster - the rhyme schemes are crazy. shytting on his rapping on this album is just pure hating.

Subject matter-wise, he's really making great songs - the one about his mom, the sequel to Stan, the song about being old and out of touch, haha. That's EXACTLY what Em should be doing.

BUT...

Em has this fondness for kinda cheesy hooks and meh beats. It doesn't dereail this album, but it keeps it in the 3.5/5 - 4/5 range. Still a very solid effort, and worthy of the MMLP title, which surprised me. (I did not like Recovery very much...so glad he stopped screaming.)

Also he really needs to chill with the anti-gay hate..some of you Coli guys must have been torn on this one...because you hate white people, and you also hate gay people...then you have a whtie rapper spitting anti-gay slurs...HOW DO I FEEL...

the subject matters is not great—it's all the same shyt. dude is in his 40's crying about issues with his mom...get over it. the more songs he makes about the situation, the more fuel he adds to that fire. he's been bytching about since his first album. at that time, it was fresh, now it's just tiring. we get it...you hate your mom. Next.

this album is just poorly executed. yea, it's the same eminem spiiting some very technical shyt, but the beats, hooks, and subject matter...uck. no one except whie methheads want to hear this bullshyt.

i refuse to conform
I don't listen to bad guy anymore, LOVE brainless, and groundhog day, he wrecked that shyt, I like stronger too, guilty pleasure listening to em get his Peter Cetera on

:comeon:

I don't really consider what you like or don't like when I formulate my opinions, baby bubba.

And I never said he didn't rap on SOME great beats, but as far as just straight instrumentals go Relapse is his most consistent and whip accessible project. I actually prefer him to use simple/empty beats to give him the spotlight so that he can mold them into whatever it is..Recovery was "overproduced" in my opinion because a lot of those songs sounded cut and paste, like any rapper could have jumped on them and did whatever.

Ain't too many rappers I can think of that could rip a Metallica sample like that.

likewise at the bolded and to me and in my opinion eminem is at his best when he getting "produced" by somebody like dr.dre or somebody of that caliber because then that just leaves eminem to worry about rapping which is when he is at his best imo.

I'm not defending his subject matter...but arguments like this are fukking stupid, since like 90% of rappers stick to their lane/subject matter.

Well IMO this is Eminem's best album since his comeback. Love the rhymes, production, and the subject matter relates to the first album quite well.
