No the fukk he isn't.
1. His bad Obama impression will trigger Obama PTSD in republicans.
2. He's a PROUD supporter of Israel.
3. He is NOT strong on working class issues
4. From an optics perspective, he looks exactly like the a$$hole boss managing the company that you never see and who comes up with the worst fukking policies.
Republicans feed their base. They wanted abortion gone, they gave it to them., they wanted anti-trans legislation, they got bathroom bills nation wide. They wanted all attempts at creating federal legislation to limit gun ownership gone, republicans have consistently blocked it. Trump is popular among the republican base because he at least ATTEMPTS to do the things he talks about doing. He said he'd do a muslim ban, he tried it. He said he'd build a wall, he started it. He said he'd slap tariffs on china, he did that. The economic problems that helped him get back into office were started by HIM. Biden didn't turn around and start negotiating with China. Biden didn't tear down the wall and reallocate the funds for that on programs to make it easier to naturalize law abiding undocumented workers, and build affordable housing, Biden didn't restrain Israel and try to build a better relationship with OPEC to get better deals on oil.
If you were a democrat and wanted something like affordable housing programs, a tax cut, or a healthcare subsidy to make paying your health insurance easier, you didn't get it. Democrats keep trying to pander to republicans and "undecided" voters who generally just go right anyway. People who are able to be convinced by republican arguments don't want "republican lite" they want Republicans.
If democrats want to win, they need to LISTEN to their base so that they feel like they have something to vote FOR not just something to vote AGAINST. Republicans have the twin strategy of promising legislation and delivering on it AND motivating their base through fear of those gains being lost under a democrat government. If Democrats want to win, the boomers need to get out of the way and let the progressives get young people, immigrants, black people, the unemployed/precariously employed activated. They need hope.
1. Bring BACK a federal jobs program like FDR had.
2. Higher minimum wage to drive all wages up.
3. Healthcare subsidy if not an expansion of Medicare.
4. Inflation prevention task force that works with the FTC and SEC to identify and fine(tied to percentage of profit in the last quarter) anyone who tries to raise prices to eat away at the gains the working class has made.
5. A tax CUT on anyone making less than 250k a year. Scream that shyt from the mountain tops. RESTORE tax rates to what they were in the 1950s and earlier for people who are rich.
6. Immediate cessation of any arms or aid to Israel, redirect that money into housing which unemployed people will be trained(for free) to learn how to build and GET TO WORK building houses across the nation.
7. BAN private equity firms from purchasing family housing or apartment complexes.
8. A MASSIVE student loan forgiveness program, AND a federally funded university in every state focused on producing STEM graduates.
9. SEVERE fines on any company who is hiring H1B visas over citizens who can do the job.
Doing this shyt will get people activated because you're motivating them to vote for something that will benefit them.
If conservatives want to talk about trans shyt, literally all democrats have to say is "these are Americans. I'm not interested in how they want to call themselves or what surgeries they want. I'm interested in making sure that they as well as every other American has access to the healthcare, housing, and education they need to make America number one." It doesn't matter if some rainbow corner of the internet gets mad and starts fuming over the politician not validating them enough, most transgender people and the rest of the country will get the message.
Josh Shapiro is NOT the man to do the things I said above, he's the kind to fight all that shyt because he's a beneficiary of the status quo.
