This is nothing. These clowns will support this because they do not fukking care. People need to understand we have a revolving door system. People in this country get into politics so they can flip that into a powerful private sector gig or because theyre from the private sector and they want to eliminate regulations so they can make more money regardless of who dies or gets crippled in the process. The third kind of person who gets into politics(see Jerry Connolly or the other mummies making up the leadership of the republican and democratic parties) are the kind of people who have no meaningful or useful skills they can be paid for so they stick around until they die.
The first two types are the majority and if anyone is angry it might be the last type exemplified by mitch McConnell who is now trying to push back because he knows HE might be made redundant and he is worthless to the private sector.

That is not the point of my post. I did not state it matters if he actions are legal or not, I pointed out that if the Republicans are discontent with his actions and complaining about it, then they need to make sure that his actions remain ilegitimate. They need to make sure they do not confirm him, making him and the office he leads a legitimate part of the Executive Branch. If they do not do that, then they will just be a group of discontented cowards who had the power to separate themselves from the idiocy of Elon Musk, but was too scared to do it.
That is the point of my post. What Elon Musk does is immaterial to my point. We are discussing what the rest of the Republicans are or are not doing besides complaining about him.

They're catching heat because Musk has all the influence they told themselves they should have. Illegal or not, Musk will make moves and be Trump's lightning rod for blame, but the senators and reps are the ones who have to face their constituents. Musk has none, and will never face any. Even lobbying has a process, a time period, a dance, a back-and-forth to it. Musk goes full Silicon Valley...just stomps in and kicks right through all those sand castles.
