That said, he’s not entirely wrong. These drones are capable of some insane destruction. Imagine if one of his automated rockets houses these things. You’d basically be able to overtake and threaten a single city with one drone-loaded rocket.

Load up a hypersonic missile containing a drone army and let it deploy tens of thousands of drones behind enemy lines doing all types of shyt.

Nukes, Rockets and Drones are basically what will define a nation’s defense going forward.

i think people need to stop treating this statement like its Elon Musk's idea. He's stating the obvious - the writing is painfully all over the wall at this point. a single fighter costs millions to maintain. not even getting to the equipment, training, take off/landing requirements, etc. the defense industry's pivot happened years ago after watching armenia fr anyway

we have seen cheap ass drones absolutely shred armored vehicles and hardened infrastructure for years now, saturate and defeat modern air defense networks, provide overwatch and support, enter the naval domain, and prove that they can be adapted damn near over night to meet changing battlefield conditions lol

Because if you take the carrier out, you take out ALL the drones + their payloads as well. Similar issue with aircraft carriers, but they all have heavy defensive capabilities to mitigate/defend against attacks that a cargo plane or tanker does not.

because even now, it makes zero sense to leverage extremely high cost 5th and 6th gen aircraft against nothing close to a near peer threat lol. and these are planes that fukk up to the tune of millions of dollars just moving from one safe base to the next.

how many hundreds of cheap drones need to fall flat before we get to the price tag of taking one f-35 out the hangar? how much of a win is it when a single drone destroys a multi million dollar tank or artillery piece? that's all its come down too. shyt - it may make sense to remove the warheard and just load up a missile with drones in the near future lol...
