This was the best move to make in this situation. Trump's claims now have no air of authenticity or legitimacy, which they would have if the issue went unaddressed. Yeah, she's catching a hot response now, but that's temporary, we're 2 years out. She laid all the cards on the table, there's nothing to hit her with that can hurt from here on out. She took this hit to get into better strategic position.
Yeah the strategy is run a policy driven, serious campaign. It will make Trump look dumb and juvenile.

That's what she's doing, dude. She's now in a position to ignore his Pocahontas shyt because she's proved them to be erroneous. If she didn't prove her claims, it would be made into a legitimate "Well, what is she hiding? Why doesn't she just address it if she's innocent?" issue my the MSM. Chess, not checkers.
One of the things I like most about Liz (and Bernie for that matter) is their ability to concisely tell the story of how the middle class and 99% and marginalized have been fukked over by the very structural institutions of America. And it makes sense because she has a background as a professor, like Barack. She can weave that story in a relatable, engaging, and easy to understand way. Crucial skill for a politician in this era. A skill I don't see in any other candidate besides the two of them.
I think she's uniquely positioned to counteract that narrative due to the history of her political affiliation. She was a Republican throughout the 1980s and mid-1990s. She's said she's a "capitalist to her bones". A large part of her political ideology is that these institutions which created great prosperity have gone too far, are too unregulated, and become disconnected from the true engine of prosperity, the middle class/labour, hence her whole Accountable Capitalism policy. The "stinkin' socialist" line might stick against Bernie, but it's patently ridiculous against Liz. It's one of the main reasons I prefer her to Bernie.
