science isn't the only measure of every truth. just a theory means not an absolute fact. And biologist are the authority on organisms not theological ideas or the universes creation. illogical is used to describe a belief in God, so I was just saying that many logical people believe in God.

Forget this idea of absolute truth -- it doesn't exist in science. Besides, you've already said you don't believe anything can be proven to be true anyway. Scientific theories aren't just guesses. A hypothesis can earn the title of theory when it is supported by enough facts, and undergoes a lot of scrutiny. It's safe to say the Big Bang theory is true in the same way it's safe to say atomic theory or the theory of gravity is true. You don't dismiss those ideas as "just theories", so why Big Bang cosmology? Because it conflicts with your theology? I'm not saying the theory can't be wrong, but the scientific process is such that it's very unlikely.

Cosmologists are the experts on the universe's creation, and they overwhelmingly are atheists. Let me ask you a question similar to one you asked me earlier. Why do you think the percentage of people who study the origins of the universe disbelieve in God is so high?

And to your last point, people can be logical in every aspect of their lives, except this one.

no, but I thought we already established that I'm open to most philosophical ideas.

Hmmm..... okay.

Hmmm..... okay.

Many cosmologist have no problem accepting the possibility of a creator. I don't know y people arrive at different beliefs without knowing absolute truth.. in science it's absolutely true that what we call gravity will pull a tree down if you cut the trunk at one side. Out side of science there are many absolute truths like ellipse = pi r1 r2.... and also within scientific topics such as.... the fact that something science may not ever consider, could have set the expansion of the universe into motion. Aren't alternative hypothesis a part of science as long as they aren't outside the realm of what we know to be possible?

Atheist proclaim (illogically, imo) a random unintelligent purposeless random universe is where we currently reside. Would you consider that......
"Nothing in Nature is random... A thing appears random only through the incompleteness of our knowledge.”

There are people who have faith and beliefs without reason. At the same time there is a reality to the order of the universe and there's a reason for the physical laws of the universe - and that reason, imo, isn't that they randomly fell in those intricate complicated places.

One could say that logic is logic, but that statement becomes untrue when it is assumed that inanimate random matter- void of intelligent catalyst- eventually developed into complex intelligent and insightful thoughts and internet post on the very existence of that matter. You can't always believe in the Theory of everything'

have we not learned anything from SOHH?

one could assume that the universe does not need a creator to exist.

another person could say that it is impossible for the universe to create itself, that there must be a creator (this is a leap in logic, but ok, let it pass)

then the first person could ask "who created the creator?"

and then we are at the point where, on some level, it seems like both sides of this issue believe that complicated stuff can exist without a creator, the only disagreement is how early can such a thing come into existence? when it is becoming a universe, or when it is becoming some kind of omnipotent consciousness that creates universes. the first one is the most logical of the two but they both may be wrong

THE END

that's simply not true

The random & purposeless interpretation of the universe, comes from our disbelief that the universe revolves around our creation. Words like random, unintelligent and purposeless are terms used to contrast theological teachings.

The fundamental atheist argument is that the universe exist to exist.

The guiding principles of biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics are not random, they represent events that are statistically possible/improbable. Atheistic arguments centered around science will not call the universe "random." Unless of course, there are no equations that can be put to use to test the occurrence of the event. In which case, the phrase "seemingly random" would be used. (or something to that effect)

Got to love humans who uses only a fraction of the brain who have never left their galaxy let alone anything past their own moon to explain what doesn't exist outside in the galaxy and multi-universe.

I don't believe in "god". My family does but I chose to not believe or worship.

I felt like a hypocrite at times praying to "god" and asking him for things but then turning around and committing sins. Going to church to sit and listen to the pastor, relieve myself of my sins and pray only to go back out into the world and sin all over again.

except you werent wrong, friend. There is no sin other than disobedience or morality in other than obedience in Christianity. If god told you to fukc betches and you didnt it would be a sin. Its part of the guilt trip, they create some unattainable version of "morality" then make you feel bad for not living up to it so that you would come back to church and fill up the coffers. Even if you didnt pay up you contributed to the atmosphere that brings other people in who would fill up the collection plates.

Its the absolutely greatest scheme on the planet. They diagnose you with some shyt that cant be proven. Prescribe you a medicine that cant be proven, or that it works. Charge you an unlimited amount of money (at least 10% of X), then do it over and over again. The NCAA is a distant 2nd in their money making prowess.

Atheistic arguments do normally center around randomness. I'm not a fool, however, I understand that they mean without guide or intelligence - especially without a God or creator - I realize that atheist see patterns, laws, and design in the universe.

First off, most theist don't believe that the universe revolves around our creation.. but around a creation.... or at the very least the purposeful catalyst for the expansion of the universe.
Second, I don't find it completely unreasonable for a person to see statistical probability and evidence of design in a universe - and come to the conclusion that something other than matter forming from matters reactions to itself, started the universe and universes.

Of course, no one is saying that atheist can't see the order - I mean, all atheist are scientist with advance degrees in Biology and are on the lecture circuit for thermodynamics.

Anyway, questions for you HL scientist- if the universe started from a dense and very hot state... it was a state of what?? Before the formation of helium.. what was the universe made of? And this question might sound facetious, but it's not... how did something come from nothing? What are the Singularities in black holes? Will the universe continue to expand for ever? - and if so, it it possible to expand into other universes? Is it confirmed that parallel universes exist?

I've written papers on BBT in college, so don't come talking about the basics as you all normally do... I'm just wondering if u all know the answers to these questions that I have.

You're essentially asking me how something came from nothing, but you can't answer me how something can always exist. The only difference is, there is much more evidence for the prior, than there is for the latter.

Now, there is a critical flaw in your argument blackking. You say you wrote about the BBT, but I think pretty much everyone understands that the BBT explains the expansion of our current universe, from the infintely small to its current state.I'm surprised that since you wrote papers about it you seem to not understand the most basic idea behind the theory. It has never claimed to explained anything prior to that. Only theists assumes that it does.

Now, there are multiple hypothesis out there than attempt to understand what happens prior to a Big Bang event. I personally like the black/white hole explanations, but it is not an established concrete theory yet. It seems to make sense logically, but the evidence needs to come forth.

:mjpls: you can't even stay on the train of thought for 24hrs

Secondly, how logical does it sound, to place at the feet of a non believer, the idea that something must come from something, when you yourself won't even ask the same question about your own creator.
