As I predicted the FAR left liberals are defending this crap as OK, because an 8 year old boy has the mental capacity to make such a life altering decision, that was no doubt influenced by his lesbian parents.

Most liberals will bring some bullshyt "study" as evidence why homosexual adoption should be considered normal. While I agree this particularly sickening situation is quite rare, its a clear example why adoption agencies need to be very WARY when placing children homosexual homes.

He is confused about his gender. The blockers keep his body relatively neutral by delaying puberty and keeping its associated changes at bay temporarily, only until he clears up that confusion. If he were to experience the rush of unbalanced hormones, which is what puberty is, and the appearance of more prounounced male traits, it would only make his confusion and stress worse, not better, since those same issues are what caused the problem in the first place. That's why it's better for him to fix his mental health before going down that road.

I honestly don't understand why this is so difficult to grasp. It's not a sex change, and it doesn't encourage a sex change- if he clears himself up and embraces his male body, they'll take him off the blockers, he can go through puberty normally, and his parents will be happy. They aren't trying to turn him into anything. The whole point of this idea is to prevent the kid from wanting to rush into an actual sex change.

These situations have happened before when whether through chemical or psychiatric means parents try to alter there kids gender and it fails 99% of the time. Anyone can see that obviously the parents are the ones leading this circus and are using the old " we letting him decide" story to further there lesbian agenda.

I would be interested to know his background prior to them adopting him

Well, there's currently no evidence that those two are connected, despite hundreds of studies on the subject. As of right now, there's no reason to believe either gender or sexuality can be determined by influence (this is also why all that wishful thinking about strong fathers preventing kids from being gay or trans is doomed to fail.) It also doesn't make logical sense- gender and sexuality aren't the same thing, nor are they two sides of the same coin. Being homosexual is not the same thing as wanting to be or acting like a member of the opposite sex. They are both very different kinds of phenomena. If the evidence changes, though, I'll change my position.

It's also very possible he was born that way. Remember, most people who end up as transgenders as adults exhibit the associated characteristics before puberty, when they are 5-10 years old- before sexual development, before they know what sex is, and before they are even fully aware of gender roles. For someone to exhibit transgender traits that early, without the relevant knowledge for it to be a decision influenced by others, strongly suggests that many of them are born with it, due to chemical or epigenetic factors.
