I'm having a hard time thinking of a simple way to answer this. Basically I'll say Steam has all of that in ADDITION to the fact that since your on PC you can co-ordinate your games outside of steam while playing. I could just video chat with people while I'm gaming online if I wanted to in a separate window. Headset support is basically whatever is working on your PC as a headset. You could plug in a damn pair of headphones into a mic jack and talk into the speaker.
Offline mode requires authentication before you use it and not every game supports it...
doesn't Steam's offline mode allow you to play sans a internet connection?
It's not just about your connection and the size of the game...
Any game with massive hype behind it and large fanbase that sells/is expected to sell like crack (Halo for example) will kill Microsoft's servers on release day...
Steam always lags on major releases and they let us download most of the game a week or two in advance...
I think a lot of it might be voice overs, I remember Conan's selling point being it was fully voiced over.Max Payne 3 is around 23 gigs on my HDD
Which is what they will surely do but that last GB on release day always takes forever when there's a million people trying to download the same files...well they could do the same thing and let you download it ahead of time

first?Might buy my first Playstation console if all these rumors are true
I just realized if all this is true, this type of shyt severely affects YOU
How does it work on PC? How come the prices can be so cheap for a PC title? I'm not well versed in that sort of stuff.
Calm down bruh. First off, I heard 2TB HDD. 2nd, next gen games are not gonna get much bigger. And they won't cost developers more money to make like you guys think. Its simply not true. Games will look better cuz of the system its played on, but the same game could be put into a 360 and play up to the 360's capabilities. Just like how a PC can make a game look great or average depending on the capabilities of the system. This can't be true bout always online shyt, and if they pushing download first then the system will need to come wit over a Terabit hard drive and if it true they using blueray and the game will be larger and close to 50gigs, well who has a internet connection that can download shyt like that in reasonable time, shyt would take over a day of no gameplayingand just straighting downloading
CEO of Take 2 Strauss Zelnick also commented on development costs for next generation, assuaging investors fears that next-gen games will be harder or more expensive to manufacture. Do we believe that titles will be a lot more expensive to make next gen? The answer is we do not, he said. In many instances we believe it may be somewhat easier to make titles for next gen depending on how the technology comes together."
Oh you mean like ps3 did all this genI doubt we'll be seeing 50 gig games anytime soon (unless they just waste all that space with uncompressed video and shyt)
Unlike any info I post, then it gets stored away in chewy's personal little lockerThat's ok. This allows people that peeked at the original thread but didn't follow it to now see this article too.
But your talking about STEAM which is based online. You can't even reach steam w/out online so it makes sense for them to do that.Offline mode requires authentication before you use it and not every game supports it...
The best way to play a steam game offline is to back it up and apply a crack...
[FNT="Verdana"]If you have a gaming PC, you are already experiencing this reality.[/FONT] I don't really care. Almost all the games I've bought on PC were dirt cheap.

People make it seem like PC gaming is soooo fun...doesn't seem like PC has the same variety in games. Sure there's games that release for the PC too...but it seems like select games.
