In the case of someone like Reed and Deion, running to social media to air out those issues isn't going to help solve the situation. He has enough stature and connections because of who he is that he actually take those frustrations and complaints to the people who matter who can actually help improve the conditions of the HBCU's and I'm not talking about the admin/management of those schools.
Even those celebrities could get those meetings to help out HBCU's if they actually wanted to help promote change within them.

I believe his heart and intentions were in the right place, but he didn't go the right route in doing so.
I get that people may be doing too much with the running to social media stuff, but shyt happens sometimes :yeshrug: You also don’t want to have students running to the news to air their schools out either but it happens.
This was just a couple weeks ago. I mean there’s a lot of people talking about the problems but are they getting addressed? Ed Reed just helped exposed more problems that’s going on.. He might’ve done too much, but him being quieter doesn’t make the problems go away. And with students coming out on Reed’s side now, all of this just makes Bethune Cookman look way worse. The think too is this happened before Ed Reed went out to coach one game… The worse that people can say about him now is that he’s “being too loud” about the problems. Well he’s gone now, let’s see what they do over at that university.

Those problems aren’t going to get truly addressed unless you get politicians and local leadership involved, which people like Reed and Deion have the power and sway to do compared to the average person. If those celebrities can get meetings with politicians to talk about other shyt, then they could easily get those meetings to help address the issues going on at the HBCU's if they really wanted to do so.

Bringing the issues to social media isn’t going to always solve the problem especially how quick people move on from one story to the next.

I take the football players being happy at the building being clean is just that.

Fact is es was unprofeasional.
He knew what he eas signing up for amd thats not how you react as a professionally
u dont know what he knew, and regardless, that’s irrelevant since he was trying to fix a problem

Being “professional” and thinking like you is what got BCU in the shape its in now

You arent fixing anything actingg unprofessionally.

No what has bcu and a lot of hbcus where they are is people supporting them instead of pulling their money. Customers need to demand accountability and if not pull there money.

You do not do it the way he did, you work through your AD, you work demands in your contract, you behave as a professional.
Or, the school could conduct itself professionally and not need another grown man to tell them to fix their shyt

Now, they can go back to being obscure and rotting away

What the achool does has no bearing on how ed reacts.

He should act professionally at all times as an example to those young men and out of reapect for himself. He didnt and he is now without a job.

BCU isnt obsecure and they arent rotting away. I know you guys who arent aware of swac and actual hbcus outside of celebrities mentioning them or being a fad for a while, dont know this but swac is healthy in terms of attendance, sports, and etc. Deion amd reed havent saved anything they disnt do annything outside of helping themselves.

Tell that to the students at Howard who had to do sit ins and publicly cry for help just for the lousy ass admin up there to finally address the rotting mold infested living conditions they had to deal with ….if they can publicly beg the community for donations and money and say it’s about the “culture” than there needs to be transparency and openness to addressing the problems as well ….what the fukk are we trying to hide :what:

I was listening to bruh here speak on the HBCU sports situation in general and he made some really interesting points about how HBCUs may just not be in a space to handle big time sports and it is probably a better use of resources (especially if they’re as limited as everyone says) to focus the monies purely on academia becusse this type of shyt that you’re seeing from these admins is just a got damn shame

This dumbass reasoning is ridiculous HBCU's don't have "Big Time" sports programs because they have been purposely underfunded for the last 100 plus years.

Tennessee commits $318M to its only public HBCU, but does that compensate for decades of underfunding? - THE FEED

Is $318M enough to fix underfunding at Tennessee's only public HBCU?

“In one particular year, 1970, $4.5 million came to Tennessee to be divided among the two land grants, but only $51,000 went to Tennessee State,” Harold Love Jr., his son, told Higher Ed Dive last year. “So he said, ’That’s not equitable. That’s not fair. That’s 99-to-1.”

Instead of following your instincts of shytting on Black people dig deeper into the issue and see why things are the way they are.
