Feels like they deprioritized this long time ago.
Most rappers getting in are either connected to some big dog or made their own buzz before the labels came through.

While pop, rock and all that are basically signed “outta college” and developed by the labels

I told people to stop trendhopping on that non-lyrical trap beats autotune BS from Gucci Mane and Future

Now look, the major labels don't want yall anymore. Even Hole-in-the-wall clubs are fed up with them beats and rappers that cannot perform onstage. Trap music gonna die like Disco and be music history's punchline on what NOT to become.

Tired of listening to multiple n words, graphic descriptions of how you'll kill another Black man, crass materialism, degrading of Black women, incoherent mumble babble, glorification of hard drug use, and proudful ignorance.

Rap should of died like 15 years ago if we're being honest shyt is played out people wanna vibe and dance and feel good. Latin music(for th most part cause they have their ghetto shyt too) and Afrobeats provide that feeling.Music is suppose to make you feel good not run down on opps.

Go to a rap concert that shyt isn't even music just a mf with 20 other mf'ers on stage with his pants hanging off his ass walking around high and/or drunk af with his vocals playing in the back.

Super trash

Lil Jon introduced the world to non-lyrical rap. Gucci Mane embedded the paradigm to the youth. Gucci is to blame for that.

I mean it's been 10 years since Drake, Kendrick, and Cole dropped and nobody really replaced them yet. :francis: The streaming numbers are big but rappers not really transcending like they used to. Lil Baby probably came the closest out of the new batch and even he's not a mega superstar. If you were going to pivot the business to more lucrative areas now is the time.

Basically:

If you a non lyrical autotune rapper like Future, you put a cap onto your fame and music ability.

Hip Hop's 50th anniversary feels like a major 'GOODBYE' more than a celebration of its History, cause 2024 onwards, rap music is basically gonna be b*stardized beyond recognition.

The gas just ran out on the utter BULLSHlT y'all been calling Rap for the past 20 years.

The 90s Golden Era set the stage for these junkies of the the new millennium to totally ruin the legacy. With wackiness.

Meanwhile the 90s cats are still huge worldwide.

Started with Lil Jon, and fully devolved when Future blew up.

nikkas killing full black American genres of music and y’all celebrating it. On a hip hop forum on hip hops 50th birthday literally CELEBRATING the death of hip hop. Meanwhile. They already did this shyt with OTHER black music that wasn’t violent at all. Was Rnb violent? Where the fukk is that at? Remember how huge it was? I’m starting to think the majority of u muthafukkas is plain stupid.

Its the lack of discipline and the lack of Church grown acts that killed RnB. That, and the rise and popularity of Strip Club Culture that killed the decent clean wholesome image of traditional singing in black music mainstream wise. Hip Hop doubled down on beefing gimmicks like 50 Cent and doubled down on ignorance like Gucci Mane and fast food music like Future and his autotune, is to the reason why longtime fans are fed up and outright leaving supporting the genre altogether.

Insurance on “bad energy” is too high too. Y’all wanna stare each other down and stand off. Other waves are displacing the bullshyt.

NY was backed down by The South because ultimately there were more of them. Now look…same game accept it’s not more states it’s more countries

Wow

Dog eat Dog World. South got its karma when the international Market sonned them and took they food. Look how they gonna fight back. :mjlol:

lil Jon was party music. Trap music was focused on destruction

Exactly. Destruction and stunting. People got fed up with that when their audiences cannot pay their bills and these trap rappers are flashing cars, hoes, and jewelry on their faces on a daily basis. Now the South is taking a backseat to Afrobeats and they cannot handle it.

Remember, during the Crunk Era, there was none of this stunting. No designer. No flexing. Just everyman fun.

The trappers brought in all this unaffordable bullshyt.
