I can't laugh or take pleasure because it's fukked up for people to be deported that have been here their whole life. Especially if they completed college and already started their careers. But that's none of our concern and we have our own issues. We need to be more selfish, and I'm happy to see that most of us aren't out here spreading ourselves thin over issues that don't concern us. A lot of us are on code and social media is playing a big role in uniting the black community.

Whoever saying this doesn't concern us, are you talkin about african americans or the black community? DACA affects all immigrants of every ethnicity. Haitians, Africans, Jamaicans, etc. have stood up against the fight of white supremacy. Yall need to stop wirh this bullshyt sometimes.

Aight i've been largely silent on this, but I feel I have to speak up about this bullshyt.
Am I supposed to feel sorry for Hispanic "undocumented" immigrants?
Real shyt, my immigration process was likely 10x harder and more expensive than someone from Mexico because the US really isn't trying to set up Sanctuary cities or DACA or provide driver's licenses or Amnesty for immigrants from Africa. And my family at least had money and didn't go through Visa Lottery, it would have been even worse if we didn't.
But despite that, my African ass was threatened with DEPORTATION for getting in a fight at military school while having a 3.9 GPA.
And I was a LEGAL Green Card Permanent resident so my "documentation" was in order.
My father and mother have also been threatened with deportation as well and neither of them has even seen the inside of an American jail cell.
I've done the naturalization process, do you know that before the interview (at least in Texas), you can ask that your interviewer be fluent in Spanish?
My mom failed her first one, but i'm sure she would have done better if they had an Igbo option as well.
And so throughout the 18 years it took us to become a US citizens (which included a name change, no ability to go visit Nigeria, threat of deportation looming over me, inability to work in certain jobs).... I dont remember a single fukkin time Hispanics rose up for African Immigrants and supported our cause.
Where were Hispanics to cape for us when Africans were being denied entry into medical schools because there were so many of us qualified immigrants vs the status quo?
Where were Hispanics to cape for us when the naturalization process allowed you to speak Spanish but no other foreign languages
Where were Hispanics to cape for us when for an 8 year span The US started to take in less and less Visa lottery applicants from Africa despite the number of total applicants nearly doubling?
