If anything, that should be a solid characteristic of a person during the time of an unknown pandemic era which is ongoing. One shouldn't get points for being canon (caring for your offspring, acting on instinct) but it would be different if he chose to stay with her during the pandemic and leave his 3 children. It's almost certain there were other issues as there was no mention of the children's mother. Perhaps the quarantine saved another family, at the expense of Eboni's time (4 years?!).
