:what: What part of they dont have notable games to validate console sales don't you understand?
But you're the same person that says the Vita has games, so your response isn't surprising to me.

If third party games dont do well on nentendo console then thats nintendos own fault, you guys say only nintendo sofware sells like thats a good thing, thats a very bad thing and a con to owning their console.

Its a damn shame that nintendo makes the only console of the big three that you cant have as your only game console.

shyt makes no sense at all, if only nintendo games sell why do they even still bother with consoles? Just make games.

Breh the Vita is a solid handheld, just ask the people who actually OWN one. Will it ultimately be a success? Who knows, but one thing is certain is that it won't leave gamers with a sour taste in their mouth like the Wii did. The PSN store for the Vita is getting fresh releases, developers are jumping on board and integration with the PS4 will play a huge role into how it goes from here on out. The PSP started off slow as well, but found its niche eventually because it was a solid platform...I predict the same for the Vita with the way Sony has been ramping things up.

The Wii U on the other hand has a relatively negative response from gamers and people who write about tech as well. Hell just look online if you want any sort of general response to the console. EA not being on the ship? Might not mean anything to you, but its a damn big deal when August comes around and Joe Gamer goes to the store and asks...Where is Madden for the Wii U? Is my system already dead? :silvaugh:

I agree that they need to tweak the culture of the company and that the Wii ended up leaving a sour taste is gamers mouths, but they arent going 3rd party.
That's like saying Sony should go 3rd party because their handhelds continue to get dominated in the market. Your highlighting the console that they haven't excelled with in years.
Nintendo put themselves at a disadvantage with the Wii U. However I think its early to write the console off when they have no notable games on the system due to their resources being used on the 3DS after its terrible launch. I dont think anyone is expecting Wii success but to write it off before the 2nd year doesnt make sense to me.

I know and the answer is no.
I had a PSP and saw what the deal was. Great specs with no marketing and little games. The same goes for the Vita. Its ran off ports and PSN for the most part :manny:
Do you really think its a coincidence that Sony reported PS2 sales with their portable sales in their annual reports this year? :stopitslime:

Sony's focus is their home console and that's why I'll get a PS4 :manny:

The situation with EA is hard hit to Nintendo, but its understandable. Theyre going through it right now and laying people off, so cutting off Nintendo console that isnt going to sell a lot of EA games makes sense to me. The instal base is low. It being low right now falls on Nintendo but see my post above. If it gets larger than we might see a change.

But like I said before, when you made that thread a while I ago I doubt you had Madden on your mind. The same goes for most other consumers.

The PSP was a success and has a respectble library. It didn't need to beat out the Nintendo handhelds to be considered a success. Same goes for the Vita. Nintendo on the other hand is barely making a profit as it is off hardware, which I believe is the first in their history.

@ the bolded...No...just NO. You can't simply throw blanket ass statements like that. I don't consider myself an average consumer. Most of us regulars on this forum are knee deep in this shyt analyzing specs, release window launches, previews and all that. WE don't care, but the average young person who sees some sick ass trailer for a new dead space/mass effect or whatever the fukk EA has their hands on is going to be salty when they see logos for the PS4/365 and PC and the Wii U in the bushes.

I know its hard to understand since many of us will eventually own all of this shyt anyway, but those are the gamers that Nintendo is losing...you cannot possibly sustain a business model in where all you are doing is relying on the old SNES faithful...we are at an age in where many of us have kids already, work full time, have a wife and have more interests than trying to collect stars in Mario Games. Young kids still relate to those characters, but I am willing to bet that they also relate to Master Chief, Sly Cooper, and a whole bunch of other games...the consoles with the most quality games usually win. Nintendo has not been able to claim that since 1996 and have not "won" a gen as a result. The Wii does not count btw, those inflated numbers hurt that company and by 2015 the numbers will eventually start to look worse.

I almost feel bad for what is about to happen to them :wow2:

I dont wanna hear that no games bullshyt, expecially since they are about to drop another new super mario bros. A rerelease of a zelda game that was blah ( get ready to see every nintendo game released in hd at full price), another fukking kirbys yarn(starring yoshi this time), and a bunch of other bullshyt means to waste money on shovelware, instead of creating some real piff.

I know they wont go third party but they need to, im sorry, but I dont feel like nintendo games are so damn good that they justify creating a standalone nintendo game player, its their fault that they get no support, they treated developers like they should be honered to make a game for a nintendo system, and put all these rules in place and telling developers how they gotta make games if that want a nintendo release, now gamers just know to skip out on the nintendo version of a game if they want the real deal, nintendo created this problems and now people act like its just bad luck that nobody fukks with them

if you want nintendo games, buy a nintendo system. if its not worth the price to you or you dont want those games (based on your posting history it seems to me that you dont even like nintendo games or at least haven't liked them since SNES), dont buy it. its that simple. Its not a big deal

as far as the rules they had on 3rd party developers, you do realize that the quality control, publishing and licensing restrictions nintendo maintained throughout the 80s and 90s is what saved the video game industry. i know it might have created animosity from 3rd party developers that happily jumped ship to sony when they came out with the PS1, but if nintendo had of just let third parties do whatever the fukk they wanted back then, NES would have been another Atari and the home-console industry would not have survived its infancy. by the time the PS1 launched alot of those companies that made those trash cash-in-on-the-video-game-trend Atari games had died off, thanks to nintendo's strict 3rd party rules. So by that point only strong 3rd parties had maintained which is why the PS1 got so many really dope games, the standard enforced by nintendo was now the industry standard.

truth is, 3rd parties dont need nintendo and nintendo doesn't need every 3rd party in the world but they do need some, and they do get some. sony and MS do need third parties so they go all out to court 3rd parties, they just aren't as srong as nintendo do exist without major 3rd party support.

Your wrong, I love nintendo games, im such a fan that I hate the way nintendo rapes mario, and remakes oot again, luigi is my all time favorite gaming character ever, and half my top ten games are nintendo games. But im not such a fan boy that I cant see through the bullshyt nintendo pulls year after year. I give nintendo full credit for reviving the gaming Industry, and the problems I have with them has nothing to do with who they were. The quality stuff I agree with, but from the 64 and forward it changed from only allowing quality games to only allowing games they personally felt was within their views of what people should play, itsa difference between not wanting another e.t. and turning down R* cause you feel that some of the best games are to violent or offensive. They tried to dictate the type of games developers make and it backfired, the third parties never turned back.

Its easy to say nintendo doesnt need third parties and while they do have a game stable that can hold a system down alone( series that mostly get used for handheld games and remakes of snes games) they hardly actually create anything for the hardcore crowd with those games. The fact is that the only reason nintendo made it past last gen is cause they dropped a cheap system that causals bought, if that system never took off like it did, then they would have been finished. If the wii did gamecube numbers, it would have been over already

They sit on a gold mine and run mario into the ground, and zelda has been the same game since oot, donkey kong hasnt had what id consider a real full fledge game since the 64, same wit star fox. Ni no kuni is the greatest pokemon game ever. How many classics other than zelda and mario does nintendo have and basically does nothing with

WEll its been a long time since nintendo has made a game that deserved the praise it got

And the fact that nintendo has been struggling to keep up with the comp and the fact that they damn near went bankrupt after the gamecube, to the point where they had to repakage the cube with motion controls cause they didnt make enough to create a new upgraded system, the fact that if they hadnt cought lighting in a bottle with the causal market, then they wouldnt have been able to put the wii u out conflict what you said about not needing third party support
