People are wishing for the Big N to disappear or make third party games. That is when the industry will be in deep shyt. Imagine the gaming industry with only first person shooters, occasional sports games, and GTA updates?

Everybody loves nintendo, its what we grew up on. Yoshi's Island is my favorite game ever and I've played almost every zelda game.

But the truth of the matter is Nintendo came through with a bullshyt console that they're gonna be stuck with for at least 5 more years. nikkas could conceivably die out in that time frame. It is what it is :yeshrug:

someone else would probably try to fill the void. i wouldn't be surprised if apple or google came out with consoles down the line.

WEll its been a long time since nintendo has made a game that deserved the praise it got

And the fact that nintendo has been struggling to keep up with the comp and the fact that they damn near went bankrupt after the gamecube, to the point where they had to repakage the cube with motion controls cause they didnt make enough to create a new upgraded system, the fact that if they hadnt cought lighting in a bottle with the causal market, then they wouldnt have been able to put the wii u out conflict what you said about not needing third party support

im speaking on realities, not hypotheticals. we can speak all day about where nintendo would be if not for the wii, but i would rather speak on where they actually are. and i didn't say nintendo dont need 3rd party support, i said they dont need 3rd party support from every developer in the world, they just need enough to fill the gaps. truth is, nintendo are supported by some 3rd parties and not others, and that is enough for nintendo. EA not making games for nintendo is a loss no doubt, but not enough to kill nintendo.

also, you say "its been a long time since nintendo has made a game that deserved the praise it got" but you also say they need to go 3rd party. tell me, do you think if they go 3rd party their games will miraculously get better to you? that somehow going 3rd party will make their games better? i mean that makes no sense. its nonsense. if you dont like the games they have been making, why would you want those games on other systems?

nintenod going 3rd party just aint gonna happen. i know back in the days we all compared nintendo to sega but the reality is that sega was never as big or as successful as nintendo. just cause sega went 3rd party doesn't mean that nintendo is anywhere close to that.

Alright fare enough, we will see how they are doing a year from now, and if they can hold up with Sony and Microsoft about to smash shyt.

Yes I do think if they weren't busy catering to a fan base that wasn't real, and trying to keep a dead system alive then they would be making better games, and they would be making less gimicky controller games and Mario party games.

If they went third party I believe more creativity would go into their games instead of releasing copy's and rip offs of their own games.

I never said they were going multi or that I want them to, I just said if they are gonna make a system that only their games matter on then they might as well not release a system at all, if they wont even try to get third party support, why make a system?if their games are all people wanna play for them then that's what they should be doing, not wasting marketing and R&D dollars on a 300$ Mario and Zelda player.

shyt they need to just stay in the handheld market, ATLEAST they are still good at that

Your right though breh, reality is the wii was a success and they made the money to stay afloat, they even outsold two systems that were vastly superior, and each had tons more games to play, they did this while literally only having one good game a year:dj2:

Reality is also that they tarnished their own name, and went from one of the most beloved but often overlooked gaming company, to the most hated after ea and activision.

Reality is most gamers won't touch the wii u because of the slap in the face, most anti gaming system ever, that was the wii:manny:

i can respect where you coming from, i would have to disagree in regards to the quality of nintendo games but thats just based on personal preference. i still have enjoyed most of nintendo's first party games, even on the wii (aside from New Super Mario Bros, that game shold have stayed on DS, where it was perfectly suited).

also, although its too early to really have a strong opinion on the new Xbox, I just dont see them fukking with Sony next gen. PS4 just seems like its going to be the ultimate gaming console and the only way they can really fukk up is the price. but thats a whole different thread.

regarding this thread, like i said, losing EA is a loss but not a death sentence for Nintendo. Bob Summerwell's comments just seem to be the last nail in the coffin for any relationship that EA and Nintendo may have had, but that relationship has been strained for a while and isnt make or break for either party. If he said the same thing about PS4 or Infinity, I think there would be far greater ramifications.
