All jokes aside, Nas is in my top 5 and I appreciate that he still loves the sport enough to put out the music he has put over the last several years and still be a top tier rapper while doing it

It's just Nas last several albums just don't grab my attention like they used to and the songs he has put out have just been a bore to me. It's kind of a chore getting through his last several albums even thought the lyrics are there. I haven't even listened to Magic 2 yet. I will eventually but I am in no rush to do so. Hitboy must be giving Nas great deals on the production. He needs to move on from him

I'm always guaranteed to get a good laugh out of Nas thread because his stans on here be doing the most to defend him :mjlol:

Never seen thebooth's perceived GOAT get defended so much in my life for every little critique

never seen anything like it with an artist fanbase. the only groups i can compare them to in terms of dedication is them nicki barbs or beyonce beehive women on twitter :mjlol:

Nas gonna do w/e the hell he wants to do; results be damned. Nas was never a 5x plat person even in his PEAK so for him to continue to do what he's always done, should be of no surprise. Idc if he/mass appeal put a mill each into promoting these last 5 tapes, i'm sure he and his team know what ballpark he's going to push "sales" wise and are ok with that, otherwise they'd go about it differently.

This is the bottom line imo. They know what the numbers will be approximatelyand are fine with that.

Plenty of underground artists eating just selling direct to consumer. There's ways to win outside of the system. Alc and Roc did like $50,000 in vinyl in like a day. Mach Hommy charges hundreds for vinyl and doesn't even put his music on streaming services.

For legacy artists the money is in touring, merch, royalties, and licensing. Nas has enough money coming in that he didn't need to profit of these albums.

Agreed Im not saying he isnt making any revenue from his store, he absolutley is and Ive seen stuff sell out on his store quick. Im talking strictly from the perpsective of people who wanna just look at sales and determine an artists popularity when its counting other factors.

People really need to stop speaking on sales.

Premier said it best, "When I saw the fans start talking about first week sales, I knew something was wrong with Hip Hop". It's corny, unless you actually work at a damn label. The culture needs a shift. Badly.
this.
Bro lol...I literally said a few post ago....if your not Nas or Hit or work at mass appeal why do you care how it sells?

Dude, they be on here talking about marketing strategies, projected sales and budgets, like we're in a conference room at Sony Records or some sh*t. And the whole time, they don’t even know WTF they're talking about! LOL!! Fans don’t want to just be fans anymore. They're like imaginary little music executives now.
