Dude, they be on here talking about marketing strategies, projected sales and budgets, like we're in a conference room at Sony Records or some sh*t. And the whole time, they don’t even know WTF they're talking about! LOL!! Fans don’t want to just be fans anymore. They're like imaginary little music executives now.
All I want is the album to sell enough for Nas to be happy and keep making more. Nothing else matters to me as far as sales (this goes for any artist I like). This alleged plug on Twitter claims Nas wasn't happy with the streaming numbers recently, but if so, they really haven't done anything to change that so I kind of doubt it's true.

I think this is the way he likes releasing music, with minimal build-up and promo--we know he recorded for Magic 2 as recently as July 6th since he mentioned Mutulu Shakur passing, so I think he likes finishing and getting it out ASAP, numbers be damned.

That whole plug thing is bullsh*t, lol.

Nas just wants to create. He's not worried about sales and numbers. Dude just wants to make music and stay sharp with the craft. Seems the only people worried about streams and sales are the fake fans. Nas ain't gonna stop making music no time soon.

Nas don't care about the sales I guess. ..he got a ton of money

But you would think Hit does? Hit crew does..lol

It does need better rollouts.

You have obviously not seen the conversations on here about low record sales.

In my opinion, if you like an artist, support them. Buy their product, help them to chart high because those are the things that matter.

Taylor Swift can drop an album with nothing but flatulence noise and her fans will eat it up because they like her.

At this stage of the game I’m hoping he’s releasing music for the fun of it. However, I’m sure it wouldn’t hurt if the label sees good album sales.

Hit also got a lot of work and placements so he'll aways be good

But I do get the sense that he's the dude who had that fire in him to go on this run that he did since 2020. Not just with Nas but reconnecting Dom Kennedy. working with Benny, Sean, doing the Judas and Black Messiah soundtrack, Snoop, Game etc etc and Im sure he'd like to see some wins off that

I think that streaming number being important plus releasing quick with no build is all related back to Mass Appeal. He wants his albums to move enough as they can for the company while keeping costs down. I dont know if thats works but I guess its a thing

At this point, I legit think he just wants to make the dope kinda music HE wants to make. Tbh, so long as he's not losing money making these albums, everyone who contributes gets paid, keeps the marketing costs low, he doesn't need to do much promo, and he can still keep his tour and sponsorship money bubbling by keeping his name out there with projects (which is where the actual money is now) then
