Snoop Dogg been flopping like a fish out of water since that song he did with Wiz which was over 12 years ago.

50 Cent can't get a buzz for a music project to save his life.

E-40's latest album this year went quadruple plastic.

The only rappers in Nas's age group capable of doing big numbers are Em, Jay, and maybe Dr. Dre if he actually announces an album and that's it.

The majority of rappers in their late 40's and 50's would be lucky to drop an album, do these numbers, get acclaimed, and have the whole hip hop media talking about it.

Hell, even the Mount Westmore album which has not just 1 but 4 OG legends in hip hop didn't even crack the top 150 in the Billboard Chart.

Expecting Nas to do big numbers today is just wild. And he's outselling the likes of Fivio Foreign and Coi Leray who are supposed to be "hotter" and more "in tune with the youth" than him.

Man majority of their shows were in theaters lol

20 dudes bussing down them theater checks lol

Nah they did ampitheatres like Hollywood Bowl and Tinley Park in Chicago which like seats 20k max (they got that lawn space at the back) last year and this year both Europe and US they have done arenas and gonna be doing arenas in the fall. They did pretty well last year, even did a couple of 30k venues and a few million dollar gates. Why do you think Method Man decided to jump in midway when he said he wasnt :lolbron:

The touring business is weird right now. Its booming for established legendary acts even dudes you wouldnt think would do arenas like Mos Def and Erykah Badu. But I think for guys like Baby and Durk their fanbase is still hella young and the tickets are expensive plus they kinda festival headliners more (Rolling Loud Wireless). I think it was maybe a couple of years too early for them. Once they had like 8 plus years in the game and established and their fans can afford the tickets they should have done it.

All jokes aside, Nas is in my top 5 and I appreciate that he still loves the sport enough to put out the music he has put over the last several years and still be a top tier rapper while doing it

It's just Nas last several albums just don't grab my attention like they used to and the songs he has put out have just been a bore to me. It's kind of a chore getting through his last several albums even thought the lyrics are there. I haven't even listened to Magic 2 yet. I will eventually but I am in no rush to do so. Hitboy must be giving Nas great deals on the production. He needs to move on from him

I'm always guaranteed to get a good laugh out of Nas thread because his stans on here be doing the most to defend him :mjlol:

Never seen thebooth's perceived GOAT get defended so much in my life for every little critique

People really need to stop speaking on sales.

Premier said it best, "When I saw the fans start talking about first week sales, I knew something was wrong with Hip Hop". It's corny, unless you actually work at a damn label. The culture needs a shift. Badly.
It be nas Stan’s themselves

They do this all the time

Nas number 1 on itunes:gladbron:

He top 10 on billboard :banderas:

Let’s have a streaming party :damn:

Eminem on the album :gladbron:

(20k sales)
:mjcry:

Who cares? Nas Stan’s care if nobody else care lol

Kanye's a bit younger but I guess that's technically true.

And, with 3 Stacks, we'll never truly know unless he drops.

Big Boi's been doing less numbers than Nas throughout his career and, while we can argue that Andre is more famous than Big Boi, it's dubious that Andre will do big numbers.

All had multiple songs in the last 15 years that move the culture. Nas not so much. Not one classic during that same period

I’d also bet that Dave Matthews Band and Foo Fighters are on Major Labels which means

1)z. That they’re marketing budgets are higher

2). That they probably have access and opportunity to make SURE that they’re physicals (CD, Cassette, Vinyl) are ready to ship DAY 1.

What I noticed about a lot if independent rappers I fukk with, is that they’re physicals are almost NEVER ready to ship day 1, which impacts when those sales count towards billboard
Very good point, the majors will win in that fight. But at the same time when you are independent you have to work harder at everything, including promotion. Even Curren$y announces projects more than a week in advance, has a video shot, etc.

It seems like with each album they shoot a lot of BTW stuff and we only see like 60 seconds of it. Why not drop a mini doc a couple weeks before album release, then a single 1 week before album release, then spend the days leading up to the album doing shyt. Hell have Nas interview Hit, or vice verse if they don't want to pay for shyt. Lot of low cost ideas to do this right/better.
