Earl sucks. Somehow this egghead is adored and coddled by legends but I don’t see it.
His fanbase is almost like none I’ve seen. They’re up there with MF DOOM fans.

I definitely like Earl more than you do but “Earl fans” go super hard in the paint for him.

I’ve seen talk from them of him being like too 5-10 of all time.

I know. He’s basically a suburban kid who started out doing Em impressions then hopped to KA and now Mach Hommy standom. And somehow this endeared him to Alchemist et al. I know he can “rap” but I feel absolutely nothing when I listen to him. His beats are even less appealing. He’s the one guy that made a Mach Hommy album sound marginal to me.

Best thing he’s ever done was wear that Joe Budden costume w/ the ridiculous beard.

I hated him at first but I admit he did grow on me in small doses. I was real late. I basically first remember hearing him on the joints he featured on on the No Idols with Domo/Alc and Pinata with Gibbs/Madlib. I liked a handful of his joints on Doris. I think he and Vince Staples sound dope together. I liked his next project more, although I did find it very depressing.

I'm not really trying to sell him to you. Clearly you don't like him and that's fine. I get occasional moods where I am in the mood for his music, but 80% of the time I'm not in the mood for it. I do think he is a creative ass dude and has some good introspective and dark free association type bars. He reminds me of a deeper voiced and more dreary hybrid of DOOM and Ka.

I do think if he and Alc or Madlib did a full project that the internet would for better or worse hail it as a modern day Madvillainy.

I don’t know what people see in him at all. He’s terribly boring. His flow is straight NyQuil status

If you never been a moody ass dude, you cant fukk with most of Earl's shyt. Hell Im even a moody ass dude and been an Earl stan since 2011 and some of the shyt from I Dont Like shyt, didnt hit me. But its a niche group of fans he appeals to, and yall gotta appreciate that. Its gonna be heavy influences of this mach hommy fella (I only heard like 3 songs from him) and this slums group, but it seems like there's gonna be tone changeups along the way, so Im ready tbh

Doris was so good because you had "Uncle Als" and "Molasses" for shyt like hoarse and guild (RIP Mac). Hope theres a semi-fast beat too even

What the hell is this distorted depressed bs

The I don’t like shyt LP got me thru a hard time so don’t talk to me about being able to “feel” him

I’m a huge earl fan but this nikkas music is slowly going from dark/experimental to borderline trolling.

Fortunately I’m just going off of his releases of lately & Maybe the album cuts gonna bring a more structured sound cause those two singles are legit annoying.

I thought that solace project was one off but no it’s that’s literally what he’s on now. This some shyt u listen to when u too depressed for regular music.
