Stop.

Jigga my nikka = sounds like Jay heard beans and bit him...

Would like a word with you.

Good point. Pace and cadence, not Beans trademark inflection however. Let's be honest though, Carter has no shame in biting.

Young Chris and then more recently Mach Hommy is more his thing re inflection.

Jay got so many terrible songs from around then, 00. That's one of them.

Cos it sounds like Beans. :mjpls:

But no, I cannot agree.

It is a biter record.
Regardless tho.

Were you outside when this record dropped.

As it was dismal as far as quality in that era.
So what were you listening to in the whip in the summer of that year and era?
As the record is dope regardless.

There was nuffin else in the marketplace that year. To rival or be called better. Besides possibly Jada song on the same traction vol one compilation.

I was listening to the Murda Muzik bootleg and the I am bootleg.

Then the official albums by the end of that year. There'd be a few dozen other releases too, I just recall those over that garbage. Swizz got like 5 maybe 6 great beats in his career, that's not one of them, the rest of his shyt is/was steaming hot puke.

End of conversation. :francis:

Kinda how I look at it. Did anyone really expect beans to be some big crossover artist? He lacks any sort of mainstream appeal.

Now in terms of Hov "holding him back," I do believe that Jay probably sharked some songs, beats, features, etc. that were probably meant for beans but once Hov heard them he was like nah i'mma grab this for myself. But I guarantee you there was no ego trippin about "beans might become bigger than me!" b/c it just wasn't going to happen.

Jay definitely has some shiesty tendencies. He didn't do the "Welcome to New York City" video with Cam when it was buzzing everywhere and Cam is his artist, so he would've got paid in the end but, he still aint do it. He kinda took Young Chris style on some Drake shyt, being a vampire taking new artist's styles to stay fresh. And with Beans, it was kinda lame he told the judge nah when asked if he'd watch over him. What the judge asked had no legal teeth. You cannot go to jail for another man committing crimes you're not involved in. And if you were being investigated in connection to any crimes, the feds aren't gonna stop because of you saying yes or no lol. He's your goddamn artist. You know the nikka regardless. It was just the judge trying to make Jay give him an excuse to let Beanie go home and he said nah fukk that :russ:

Jay put Beanie on. But you can put someone on and still hold them back. Many such cases.

This says more about your mentality than anything

A real one would say just open the door for me I’ll take care of the rest. Only a bum mentality would see the type of platform jay put beans on ——being known as Jay-Z’s right hand man partner in crime for a DECADE—-yet still think you’re owed :scust: damn ngga he gotta buy the groceries and cook em for you?!

How is Kane viewed for jay z? He put him on. Jay is forever grateful. It’s stamped in history. Yet when it comes to jay z, that’s not enough

Yall nggas goofy

The greatest anecdote to kill this argument is Cam describing his time at the roc. All of state property was there waiting around meanwhile Cam took beats, made his own mixtapes, even made their own office space :heh:

I fear for you nggas in a corporate space. It’s called initiative. Some nggas have a go getter attitude while some don’t. That was the difference. Imagine being in a butcher shop waiting to be fed a steak.

He WAS poised for some form of stardom. The B. Coming was supposed to be released in 2003. When he caught that case, it derailed everything. He had a open attempted murder case with a living victim. He couldn't tour, the album got pushed back. His hype went higher, but by the time the album dropped in 2005, the business at Roc/Def Jam had broke, and the album was released on DDMG.

It went gold, but then he had to do a year in the feds, which kneecapped his momentum, and then by the time he came out resigned to Def Jam/ROC, the moment had passed in 2007. There's a lot of factors, just like anything, but if he released The B.Coming in 2003 and never catches the murder case, his life may have gone different.

Only plaques Beans got is for The Truth and Freeway's What We Do single.
