Even though I plan on seeing it, I'm already getting fatigued by this movie. This and MIB, I swear, had trailers in front of every movie released this year. I never want to hear that corny black superman line or see the scene where they pick a room and have to fight to the door. I'm sure I'm not the only one. That's why, lowkey, I show up late into movies now. Watching a trailer multiple times kills my interest in films. That Quentin Tarantino movie falls in that same category too.

Most of his movies are flops.

I wouldn’t say most of his movies flop, but his reputation as being a draw is greatly overstated. The Fast and Furious series was on an upward trend before he joined and didn’t crack a Billion until Paul Walker’s death. And he was barely in the highest grossing one. If we take away Fast and Furious, what else has he done that’s really done big numbers? I don’t think he has a big movie outside of Jumanji, and that was an ensemble movie.

I had no idea,I read a article about it,and saw multiple websites confirming:dahell:

'Hobbs and Shaw' Box Office Tracking Numbers Predict a $65 Million Opening Weekend

"The early Hobbs and Shaw box office tracking predictions are in, and it turns out Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) and Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) don’t seem to have quite the same appeal without the rest of the Fast and Furious#family. The first spin-off in the Fast franchise is currently on track to pull in between $55-65 million domestically during its opening weekend – a far cry from The Fate of the Furious, which peeled out and raced past $98 million in its opening back in 2017"

The studio is fukking up big time,I've been seeing commercials for this shyt for too long for it to not be coming out until Aug. But trust me,they have the analytics, you guys have to get with the times. They know the numbers and can give a estimate before they come in. Based on my own analyticals this is about what I expect as well, more like 51-57million in its opening weekend imo. They made a few big mistakes, only the Rock is big on social media. When has Jason Statham ever been the star of his own blockbuster? He's a career straight to dvd actor. Then you have the Rock who has alientated the fanbase of F&F,so I'm sure many of them will boycott. I'm not sure if yall realize how diehard alot of F&F fans are. The Rock has made enemies of Vin Disel and Tyres? Not a good move. Vin is a staple and what blew the franchise back up to prominence. And Tyrese is actually the heart of the franchise as the comic relief. These movies would be nothing if they took themselves too seriously. Ironically the movie would have done better numbers if it was Hobbs and Roman. Why they put Jason Statham as the costar when they could have just made Idris the costar I'll never know.Statham was great as a villian, don't know if he has the chops for a buddy comedy where he is one of the leads.

Tracking is different than what you said. Tracking can always fluctuate. It can be higher or lower than that. Wait till it drops then come back to that

I think Black Adam will do better than Hobbs & Shaw... this is the spinoff no one asked for. Might be a decent flick but the trailers look like a street version of Winter Soldier. Idris is the genetically enhanced Bucky and The Rock is Cap pulling helicopters out the air with 1 arm

I need to remember when F&F movies stopped revolving around cars.

We got The Rock, John Cena and Roman Reigns apart of the F&F franchise, might as well add Biker Taker as the next villain

The Rock is not a box office draw. Majority of his movies underperform and Hobbs VS Shaw will be no different.

Dwayne Johnson Movie Box Office Results

Looking at this, I’m not sure how he ever got that rep in the first place. He’s putting up #s well below what Cruise/Smith were doing in their prime, without franchises and premium ticket prices. I used those 2 because I think they’re the last 2 true movie stars, where it’s a Will Smith/ Cruise flick.

I see @Dominic Brehetto going hard in the paint for Vin Unleaded :lolbron:

I never said anything about your boy. I genuinely had never heard anybody say anything about Dwayne acting unprofessionally:yeshrug: I personally dont consider calling out your coworkers for not doing their job to be unprofessional. If so every office, store, and other place of business in the world is full of unprofessional people. For what it's worth, Scott Eastwood made comments about people always being in their trailers as well, but that's beyond the point. I personally dont care about the "beef". They'll work together again; neither is leaving that money on the table.

More importantly, we need to get over this idea of The Rock not being able to create a hit action franchise as being a big deal. Nobody is creating new, solo, critically acclaimed, and high grossing action movies anymore. Liam Neeson might have been the last to do it. Before anyone brings up John Wick, y'all remember the movie Journey 2: The Mysterious Island? Me neither:mjlol:But it's a shytty movie starring The Rock that outgrossed both John Wick's combined. Franchises and ensemble casts rule the action genre. The Rock picks shytty scripts, no doubt, but he's not an anomaly in his inability to create new action franchises. Jackie Chan just flopped. nikkas love Tom Cruise around here, but if it's not Mission Impossible it's a flop. It's the way of the business. This is all about ego at the end of the day:manny:
This is a part of a bigger situation. The movie star is basically a dead concept. I think Will Smith realized before everybody else

Also the action movie genre no longer belongs to the US

Asian action flicks got the juice now
