I was entertained, show looks beautiful but some of the writing and acting is sub-par for what I expect from HBO. Valya (young and old) and Lila being the worst ones to me.
It kept me engaged, will watch season two but still hope it'll be better.

Is the acting AMAZING on Dune Prophecy? I wouldn't say it's amazing, but it's not bad.

What I do like is that the pacing of Dune Prophecy is quicker than other shows. The Last of Us and House of the Dragon had long stretches where nothing interesting or important really happens.

It's possible that Dune Prophecy is moving a bit too quickly, but I'll take it for now.

Maybe the only worrying thing about this show for me is that there are seemingly a lot of plot lines going on...and tying them together could prove difficult if the show doesn't last long enough. Game of Thrones had this problem -- albeit under different conditions.

No Whammies!!
I love this show.
Already better than House of the Dragon.

The only problem is the message seems to be:

You can't trust women.

:mjlol:

It seems like there are no "good guy" characters on this show at all. I guess maybe you could argue that Ynez never did anything evil, but pretty much every one else is an anti-hero at best.

Having characters with flaws is the new normal in writing TV shows.

The closest "good" character on the show now is probably Dorotea/Sister Lila

The leads gotta do a better job of carrying the show in season 2. Those actors have both been in too much shyt to not show any charisma

HBGoat showcase.

I will say... That this is better as a 2 episode binge feature, because it didn't have the best episodic flow for even 6 episodes.

The show started off a little disjointed, but started going like a rollercoaster when everything start to come to light.

I will rewatch it I believe in a few weeks as a two day binge.

I'll give season 1 a solid 4 out of 5 stars, Desmond Hart was favorite character and as I said here, bringing Ragnar Lothbrok in to play him was fantastic. There were parts that dragged and didn't care for all the time shifts but have high hopes for this. They did a great job and Dune is something fresh to get for a show for sure now
