If people want to watch it in theaters they will
I don't give a fukk about these filmmakers. pure selfishness. studios did what they had to do to survive.
Warner has told this guy constantly the sequel is pretty much guaranteed he just wants to whine about it.
I'm not seeing eternals either I'm just saying people are more excited for it
I see both sides. Yes, his distributor made a decision that works for them after a worldwide pandemic. But it must stink to work hard on something with the expectation it will be viewed as a theaters experience only. And then you see other studios (Disney, Universal, Sony) still doing theatrical releases only.
But yeah, dissing other movies/studios isn't the way to vent your frustration.

Maybe.. but he took the Planet of the Apes franchise and brought in adult themes with it... which rarely happens in franchise movies and they still sold very well..

The people in this thread are morons because Denis is not saying he hates franchises and films that generate a lot of revenue. One of his POTA movies did over $700M which would be close to a billion in today's numbers.. He can do that. He could go work for Marvel right now. They'd give him the keys.

These threads are dumb because the posters in them are dumb :russ:

Breh.. explain the jealousy angle. He's an accomplished director who has done the franchise thing before.

People are more excited for the marvel films coming out this year instead of dune hence the zombie analogy he used
He’s jealous a majority of people aren’t appreciating his art at the same level a majority of people are appreciating marvel films

nikkas really got these directors on a pedestal. They human just like me and you. Is the nikka a got damn robot incapable of emotions like jealously? :dead:
Just cause he good at his job doesn’t mean he can’t be in his feelings. And the fact that he’s good at his job actually just predisposes him to as has already been mentioned in here.

More to the point... Black Widow hasn't even crossed $400M at the world box office.. where's the excitement?

they've been making comicbook movies since the 1970s. only reason people feel the need to be vocal of their distaste in them now is because they're jealous of the attention the genre gets now.
None of these directors were complaining when Christopher Reeves or Michael Keaton was on top of the box office. and none of them say no when offered their own sci fi franchise at various points in their career.
