A lot of black people are pessimistic when it comes to they own, they look down on other black folks

That’s why you see people act the way they act, only caring about the money, not caring about doing shyt for the community

Think about it, I know we all seen how people make jokes on this forum about black children, whenever a story comes up several people always post “if only there was a community center”

Children is literally the most important resource we got and people take it as a fukking joke and our careless
It's people like this runnin' around in the community and it's demoralizing to the rest.
Can't build when it's people like this working against moving forward. It's self hate, but the worst kind if you ask me.

Honestly higher education may be one of those things black people should probably try and control ourselves

It’s not realistic for other industries but education is probably the best shot cause I get that certain schools will open doors for people and I don’t want people to not go for they ambitions but we really have to start questioning shyt like this

They trying really hard to stop us from doing shyt, does it make more sense to take the energy we would use to fight to go to places like duke or whatever and go make an hbcu or these state schools our educational safe spaces to expand our knowledge and research capacity?

This is a question that needs to be answered in my opinion
its not just the schools too

Getting in is one thing. Its all the stuff you lose out on when you don’t get in...Its the internships, scholarships, programs, pipelines, etc.

There WILL be a drop off in black private sector employable candidates in your life time. In the next 5-10 years I bet.

There just isn’t enough black students at these schools to recruit from.

I honestly was reading through the thread and thought to myself "WHERE THE fukk IS CORNELL WEST"

I am so damn disappointed in him.
Worrying about Gaza, speaking in generalities about how black people shouldn’t have money, or complaining about the military industrial complex while china and russia are running rampant.

I’m sick of some of these anti-imperialist contrarian “marxists” sucking up valuable discourse about left-liberalism and actual democrats.

Just whining about radical muslims and trans issues.

It’s almost like people giving up and it effects everything, you can see it literally everywhere even education

I had several teachers so some crazy shyt to me, black teachers

And ironically white male teachers actually been my biggest supporters when I was in highschool

Highkey you should probably make a thread on this topic

You would think Black Celebs would serve as NIL boosters for HBCUs but lets be real HBCUs in general don't really have the interest of black society as a whole in it's best interest (because they depend on non black funding to survive) and Black Celebs are dependent on the same also. You would think being that we are at the stage of 2nd and 3rd Generation Pro Athletes we would see the pivot happen now that there is enough of a pool to establish new institutions or reshape existing but nah lol
It's sad to say but black people just want a hug from the white man

You can make the thread. I'm not the fire starter. I signed up to change minds in the thread, not start 'em.

That’s unfortunate but they really wasn’t hiring us in the first place

I guess it’s one of those you can’t miss what you ain’t got things

Not trying to dismiss your point though

I just thought of a good reason why we should create our own educational spaces outside of these colleges like duke

The world is globalized, okay maybe we won’t have the opportunity to work at certain companies or rub shoulders with certain people at these universities but that don’t mean we can’t leverage our own talents
It’s plenty of places in the world who could use educated folks for example, Africa wants to industrialize and improve the infrastructure
We can set up are own engineering firms, cybersecurity firms, consulting firms
And we can use the elite talents at these universities and cultivate our students
Yea it’s a sacrifice but I’d rather we put our energy in that instead of trying to continue to be accepted into other spaces cause they obviously not fukking with us

That’s how we dig ourselves up from being the underclass
