The problem is , higher education has become more about status, than the knowledge.
realistically if you can learn the same thing anywhere, it shouldn't matter what school you go to.
But people want to have certain institutions on their resume for connections and status.

These schools matter as well for Blacks. Their network, endowment, budget for research. Duke has a renowned African American study program. You on the outside might not think much of it but the Blacks within Duke have created a masterful intellectual safe space at an institution where their founders were occultist and I've seen everything there. Even the stuff no one else can see because of my connections.

There are a lot of Black Americans there. Heck, I think Sandy Darity is at Duke.

You would think Black Celebs would serve as NIL boosters for HBCUs but lets be real HBCUs in general don't really have the interest of black society as a whole in it's best interest (because they depend on non black funding to survive) and Black Celebs are dependent on the same also.
