not bad at his job, but this dude has this whole :scusthov: attitude toward everything and everyone save for his chosen few - marshall faulk, dude comes off as a debbie downer sitting across from irvin and primetime

I was waiting for it. :heh:

At least dude admits that he shouldn't be there....so what's ESPN's excuse for keeping him.... :smh:

I can understand ESPN's reasoning: Simmon's has a large audience who enjoy his columns and podcast.

But to bring him on as an analyst is :scusthov:

Plus his humor doesn't translate as well on screen as they do on his columns.

Roy Jones Jr....he's terrible...can only assume he's on the air because the folks at HBO agreed to look out for him after retirement for all his years of service for HBO boxing

Roy is that nikka, one of the best to EVER do it, respect is due....

...but yeah, that mumble-mouth nikka sound like Mushmouth on the mic:

Roy still that dude, though:

...see to me, that's the thing. ESPN somehow concluded that THAT audience which "gets" his column humor is somehow comprised nearly entirely of the same audience that watches that show, AND that that's somehow THE most dominant percentage of that target demographic that's watching. :stopitslime:

It's stupid, the AVERAGE NBA fan don't know who he is, or at least they didn't before he came on that show.

I mean, more power to him if his schtick works for some and that keeps him around, yunno, but dude to me really just doesn't fit into the equation on that show.

When he admit that?

I saw it on here, somebody said something to that effect to him on Twitter, I believe, and he either replied that back to them or did so in a column, can't remember which.

But yeah, I actually saw that on here.

ESPN is insulated from the rest of the world. They think they're driving the news instead of just reporting it. The "Powers that be" that made the decision to have him on there are probably big fans of his columns and are looking at it like one of his "fanboys" instead of really looking at what he adds to the show.

As someone pointed it out, he does have some decent points once in a while, but it gets lost due to his attempt at humor, or just his plain delivery isn't made for TV.

I used to enjoy his columns, but they're getting old to me, so I might be biased.

Disagree with this one....His delivery isn't the smoothest, however, he breaks the fight down on a rudimentary level for the casual fan and he is good at that...

His delivery and articulation could use work if you're into things like that

rodney harrison

Dude is awkward on TV. But he does have some chemistry with Dungy. (He should be thanking that dude).

I'm gonna add Shaq into this mix. Maybe it's because he doesn't add anything to the Charles/Kenny/Ernie chemistry that's noteworthy. CWebb was better when he was with these guys.

RJJ is very good, you are just wrong here.

Magic Johnson is my first choice. Reggie Miller because he criticizes players for not doing things he didn't do in his NBA career.

Warren Sapp is good when he is actually analyzing and not outright hating on players. Dude makes stuff personal too which is annoying.

Locally, Rick "Doc" Walker because he doesn't offer much analysis outside of talking about wild boars fighting.

Lavar Arrington because dude uses words he has no business using and then says those words incorrectly. I also see why Marvin Lewis suggested he wasn't a smart football player.

I'm also growing to dislike Ron Jaworski's analysis on QBs.

The one person they really need to retire here in DC is Sonny. Enough of this guy already.
