Believe it or not, that isn't the first time I heard a libertarian say something like that when I bring up the Gold Rush and those ungoverned territories out there. It must be in some form of book or website.

What a copout.
I guess that's the best bullshyt rebuttal the Cato Institute could come up with.

lol...your mental gymnastics aren't even worth addressing anymore. Any time any points to the utter failure and calamitous effects of your precious free market governance--because that's exactly what it is--a form of governance, you just bullshyt your way out of it by saying "that's not the free market." :stopitslime: Let you tell it, no free market has never existed anywhere, but in this mythological utopia in your head. But when random shyt like not as many people watching Duck Dynasty after the actor made offensive statements, that is solely a result of the free market. :deadmanny:

@Type Username Here nailed you on the podcast when he brought up the ungoverned wild, wild west gold rush days of the 1850's when you had the highest murder rate America has ever seen, higher than any city during height of the 80's crack epidemic, and vigilante justice often employed by robber barons, and you said that wasn't a free market because and I quote "the market wasn't fully developed yet." :wtf: does that even means? :heh:
:salute:No true free market has existed and true socialism hasnt existed. Fact.

The market doesnt establish laws, I posted an unbias link that explains it, but you're not interested in facts.

His gold rush claim is off as well. Society was lawless, and the market reflected that... period. This idea that an unregulated market means a lawless society is one of the dumbest arguments i have been met with. Most of the time opponents to my positions have actual substance to what they are saying but this is just nonsense.

Unless you are trying to say the market came first then society... in which case you win.:heh:

:heh: i dont buy for a second that you guys even believe that if we unregulated markets target and walmart would start shooting people who protested against them. How has this tie between the market and laws even been made????? shyts nutz.

Let me walk through this with you. Why were black people brutally oppressed and treated as second class citizens in this country for over 300 years?

It was a lawless rush for a finite resource no person or nation had claim to... it really was a exception to so many rules. But you dont want to hear that :manny:

:upsetfavre: Because human beings are shyt.
And those shytty human beings effectively barred black people from being able to compete and exchanges goods and services in order to reap the benefits of the free market by the spontaneous ordering and decision making of the white majority of the country. There literally had to be a civil war in order to even begin to reconcile that discrepancy, followed by a series of constitutional amendments and massive legal reforms issued by the government. Black people were legally second class citizens at least in some parts of the country until about 1964.

This conversation started with you saying this Duck Dynasty bullshyt was an example of how the free market is an impediment to racism. 3 centuries of American history proves that isn't the case. If you're going to make all these qualifications about x and y weren't really free markets whenever people collectively do foul stuff, don't at the same time credit the free market when it's convenient for your argument. You bullshyt too much man.

I wonder if he just dissed black people and didn't diss gays would this of still happened.
No

Mel Gibson saw no repercussions from his "pack of n*ggers" statement, but once we got drunk and started dissing Jews, that's when the media turned on him. Gays are the new protected minority. Saying anything against them is automatic blackball.

They placed regulations on the market yes by force. yes I agree with this. :leostare:

" Had to be" a civil war:patrice: I disagree, but ill stay with you on this... I said its an example of the free market handling racism on its own. Making blacks "legally" second class citizens, was an action of the state. Any time discrimination is legal in any capacity its a issue of the state, not the market. This should be easily discernible...
The market reflect the society, im not gonna deny that, but to blame the market for society is absurd.

When the Colonialists arrived in Central and South America to take the wealth and cease land, what authority of the state was used to enslave and use the Natives as labor? Was the enslavement done prior to the establishment of a proper government or did they wait to pass a law in order to do it?

:ohhh:
You're defining the market as greed, and lust for power.:ehh: In that case it is the market and not the human condition that is responsible for the evils of man.
:manny:My fault, I was using dictionary definitions. I'll try to keep the language barrier in mind in the future.

I challenged you on your assertion that enslavement is a byproduct of the state and the state's law. I didn't mention the free market in there. Please read.
