It turns out that a national controversy sparked by racist and homophobic remarks doesn't necessarily result in a ratings boost for a television show.

Many speculated that "Duck Dynasty," A&E's hit reality series about a family of swamp millionaires who made their fortune off duck calls, would draw even more viewers after one of the show's stars, Phil Robertson, made headlines last month for railing against "homosexual offenders," "Shintos" and "Islamists" in a wild interview with GQ.

But rather than a ratings spike, viewership for the show's season five premiere actually dipped considerably. Wednesday's premiere drew 8.5 million viewers, down 28 percent from the season four premiere last August.

A&E suspended Robertson after his remarks surfaced, prompting a slew of conservatives like Sarah Palin (who later admitted that she didn't even read the GQ interview) and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) to rush to his defense.

The suspension didn't last long, as the cable channel reneged on its decision a week later.

Is America really less racist than we thought?

But RadarOnline.com has uncovered new proof of just how far the people behind the show will go to create the “reality” that’s won over fans: In a world exclusive, Radar can reveal a casting email that was issued for the show back in 2012 looking for bearded male actors to serve as stand-ins for the stars!
“A&E’s Duck Dynasty is looking for 4 Stand Ins to work this coming Sunday in a … shoot,” the email, from BAM Casting in Louisiana, reads. “Need to match the 4 men in the Dynasty Family. MUST HAVE FULL BEARD.”

The shoot, set to take place on August 19 in the family’s hometown of West Monroe, Louisiana, would last four to six hours and pay $250, the email claims.

I've considered this talking point you constantly bring up, and its absurd. I couldn't understand it at first cause I was giving you too much credit. But when I considered the possibility that you may just be being retarded, it began to make sense.
You are conflating the market with the law of the land.
The biggest contributer to those early evils was the human condition, followed by competition over a finite resource and a different set of rules/standards than we have today.
Judging the ethics of the past using today's standards doesnt work the way you want it to.
