The Bruised Ego of Dumb B*tches
Oh and i didn't mean to take away from the fact that Scuba sounds like a prick (i've seen an interview where i was like "Really? You put out that album and feel like you could talk shyt?"

Won't lie i was hyping that album, but the only good shyt about it was one song and the jungle mix that came with it, lol.

picture me (basically a london lad) standing around having my first convo with a a white skater dude whose 20 and come from a small village near the divide between scotland and england with him going into why the grime scene needed more waifer back in the day, his love for peverelist's asusu stuff and that he just copped an oi icey hoe 12"

Damn you Black as hell, that dance looked like a :mjpls:dance, been to many of them myself.

:pachaha:

but nah, there's was nuff black people..but you know how it is, we like to lurk in the dark and silence :shaq:

most of the black heads did the correct thing and hung around the soundsystems which were in the corners of the room

there's a nice mixture of all types of people there, who're of all hues. The only thing i've really noticed is that there is a lot more middle eastern people than usual at SYSTEM, which ashamedly, I put down to V.I.V.E.K co-owning the dance.

And to what you said about VIVEK, yeah..he's a vinyl head, and I could absolutely imagine you loving the 1 hour dub reggae segment they start the dance off with too

I'm part of the Dark Nation too, I remember had a picture of me in Knowledge Mag(D&B Zine) in 02 when Dillinja and Lemon D were in town, I hated that picture. You know how after hours of sweating, us dark skin brehs, don't look right. Looking greasy as shyt.

But yeah it's was always the same for me, all those years going to D&B dances, you will see the Blicks sprinkled around. And you could always tell off the Blacks in those dances, who grew up around Whites, and who grew up around Blacks.

The ones like myself who grew up around Blacks, most of the time we where there by ourselves. But the ones who grew up around the Whites, they were always there in a group, most of the time being the only Black.

Luckily for me someone I knew for a while, who I never really hung with, a couple of years after high school, on the bus, I discovered he was into the music I was into. Now whenever I can convince to make the trek down here. He's always the one I roll with with.

I understand breh and we've pretty much been through the same thing, although in slightly different ways as I did grow up around an even mixture of races of people but it was in a relatively small town so everyone I was friends with had this bait MTV base mainstream music taste. People like us always seem to find eachother in the end though :youngsabo: cos like I said, this dude i'm going to system with on friday grew up in some bait lil 300 people village so he went through the same thing. If all goes well he might be the dude I always reach nights with. Plus i'm trying to get him to take me to some proper techno nights just so I know i'm not missing out and haven't completely missed the point

oh and if any of you brehs reading my posts thinking :what: the fukk is a "oi icey hoe"?. It was a legendary grime mash up bootleg of 3 already classic riddims made by a big artist (skepta) in the scene.

one day i'll make a thread about the greatness of grime (don't hold your breath, i probs won't tbh) and try to let heads know certain things like how dizzee made 5 riddims and should rightfully go down as one of the GOAT producers. Whenever a damn near subgenre is created from one of your beats (the hoe riddim has about 10 remixes/refixes, most of them classics in their own rights) then that lets you know how ahead of your time you are

anyway enough of that..i'm gonna just lurk this thread for a while and let other heads post shyt..

I'm from the DC Area, but I've always notice more Blacks were into D&B around here, but Dubstep is pretty much like how you just described it. The only kinda Electronic Music thing, you'll find a lot of Blacks at is Soulful House or Broken Beats type of thing.

:ohhh: didnt know u were in the urea. yeah, seems to be a few black folks down there into jungle. in in ohio, bout to move to vegas... even the house sets dont get any black folks... and if they do, they are old heads. which is strange cuz detroit and chi are house cities, and the scenes are run by black folks
