Whoa that's serious. Reminds me of a 21st Century UK version of the interludes on the old Ice Cube albums. Is there more tracks about the riots out there? All I've heard is Poppa Levi's "Riot inna Birmingham", which might be about past riots. BTW, if anyone has this track, up this shyt, cuz I can't find it anywhere. Its even disapeared off Youtube.

Nah, you won't find it anywhere. It's unreleased and i'm 99.9% sure it'll stay unreleased. But for bass music you really shouldn't yapp songs off of youtube cos of the sound quality (but mostly cos you should be buying the tracks....support the underground scene/small artists breh :birdman:).

I might ask Blackdown himself to use the track in a project I have going :shaq:...so if by a miracle he lets me use it. I'll pm you with the link to my project

but if you liked the sound of that track...you should listen to Kode9 & spaceape's spin on Prince's Sign O' the times...

oh and to answer your other question. Nah, i'm not really aware of any tracks that dealt with last summers riots. Fun fact for you tho is Loefah's SWAMP 81 label is named after the swamp 81 police operation that was put into place as a response to the 1981 brixton riots

i'm really feeling these 130 grimey beats coming out from heads like Wen, Visionist etc..if the bass music scene steers away from this garage revival bollocks towards this sound i'll start getting optimistic about the future of British underground music again

I'll cut you.

lol, nah i'm playing. Different strokes, etc. Although -

Chopped Vocals + Garage Beats = INSTANT PLAYS

Makes me sick. Was making me sick last year, too. I had a Visionist/Lorca twelve or Digital release WAV/FLAC from '08 i think (maybe later?).

I'm seeing more and more of CESSMAN around which is nice. Dudes showing up in mixes, on Deep Medi, big.

Gotta disagree, the Garage/Deep House vibes when done properly, is :lawd:

Garage influence most never leave the 130/140 scene, it's the foundation

DRUNK028 (Bass Clef album). He's some texture or way of layering his shyt that's dope to me. Really like dude's sh*t.

Also, putting this Dub meets Acid meets House type shyt out there. Octo Octa. Never heard of them before, but that marching deep basic channel type bass is nice.

Also, i heard of this dude Dro Carey before but chucked his latest EP less for this one track here -

...and lastly, Fantastic Mr. Fox just because (last one's new, Black Acre Broadcast).

continuing on from my grimey 130 bass music posts (:snoop:)

Tim and Barry just put up the set Visionist did for them last week on youtube. Seriously brehs, if you're not subscribed to tim and barry or don't go on their website, you should start now...they have heavily pushed and supported all the types of the underground british music scene (especially grime) for years and continue to do so and they have a good mixture of popular and obscure dj's and artists come in to do their sets (which range from house, techno, grime, dubstep, footwork all this new garage hybrid stuff etc etc) With the footwork stuff, they're the ones who have the biggest ties to the scene over in Chicago and always get spin and rashard to cut them special dubplates, do sets for the show and basically give them the platform to showcase whats going on over there whenever they're over here.

but all in all, just get to know...its a good channel, anyway, here's the link
