More often than not when you see pics from back in the day of the legends, they was suited and booted. Guy Fisher, Nicky Barnes, Frank Mathews. You trying to look like a walking stereotype with the pen in his near future and I’m trying to look like a young Flukey Stokes in a bespoke suit. If you in the gray area wtf you trying to look like it?
I just find it funny cats in here talking about dressing up makes society look at them different when nikkas in suits and ties were getting lynched and having dogs put on them back in the day :manny:

I agree to a certain extent except for the fact that what most people deem as formal is just what white society dictates.

You can be presentable without having to fit into that. I don't do white formal wear only at weddings and funerals out of respect for others. Besides that you will never catch me in a suit or tie for anything.

it's your right to dress as you please

as long as you feel fully confident and comfortable

it's all good

:ehh:Already got the dockers and button ups on deck.

I remember when I had an interview at Best Buy a while back and the dude who worked there was like :why:"You are the only one that dressed proper for the interview", everybody that arrived for the interview dressed up in shorts and flip flops:patrice:. Dudes looking at me like I was the shyt and the aroma. It was amazing:wow:. Bottom line, 2018 we gotta get the bag by any means necessary. Tailor made or go home brehs:ufdup:

I keep telling people

navy blazer jacket and some fitted grey jeans with a basic sneaker or shoe is the way forward :blessed:

Puma low tops are the way to go for such affairs:wow:

Crisp jeans, a fresh button up or polo, and some basic low top pumas. Watch the lights shine on you like you a superstar:banderas:

Although I still prefer dressing casual (athletic and street wear to do daily activities etc). I like dressing business casual and formal because I love the style and how it looks on me. Also my job requires it.

Plus the hoes love it on me.

- Opens doors and changes perceptions:mjpls:.

- subconsciously makes you look fell"important" to other folks.

- It makes you look more affluent.

- Better quality broads will take you into consideration like :lupe:.

Dress how you want to be..

If you want to wear timbs, jeans and a jersey...cool I am not mad

But I can promise you if you take pride in what you wear, if you wear slacks/button downs to work, wear suits etc..

  • You will feel better
  • People will treat you differently
  • You will be judged differently
  • Different types of people will gravitate towards you
  • And doors start to open.

Its not by luck.

I am a highschool drop out, all my college friends keep telling me how they wish they had my current job etc..

Nothing like a nice pair of slacks and some dope buttons ups. I always appreciate a nice pair of shoes as much as sneakers.

I was fortunate enough to meet the right people, build certain relationships and over time got a good corporate job. It took a lot of time, but in the end I made a lot of new friends that have elevated my quality of life during that time. So it wasnt a golden spoon by any means, you surround yourself by enough positive people you end up adapting unknowingly
