I call that shyt “the gap” or “Supermanning”
Clark Kent at work(sauced up business casual).. Man of Steel on the weekend (sauced up casual or sport coaty shyt)
If you can do both... people will stop you in publix to specifically tell you that you got it
Damn bruh I like that term...
My business casual is usually on point. I remember in Dec I copped a nice shawl cardigan from suit supply and I got mad compliments on it. I also have this top coat I've had for years from Banana Republic and I've had more than one person ask me where did I get it from.
I'm starting to attempt streetwear. I'm usually not good with it but I'm trying.
Man I feel it works both ways. I love getting fresh! But I will say the key is your scent not your cloths. At the end of the day I dress how I feel. We shouldn’t tell the fam to “dress to avoid being judged”, we should just preach it out as “yo dress nice and it’ll help you see success”. The power of words goes a long way. I was walking and thinking about it earlier. The way you talk will scare someone much faster than what you wear. I come from the rough background but I learned myself, how to present myself. I can get a job in slides I can get one in slippers.
I like clothes because you can manipulate image. I'm not a master at it but it DOES help.
I wore a suit for our holiday party and went out to go dancing. Literally had women stop and ask me why I was dressed up, had a girl introduce herself to me, etc. It was an OK suit too...I think the fit and the color scheme helped me out.
I bossed up in a tuxedo at a Military Ball too. Felt like a million bucks.
I'm watching a show now on Gianni Versace's killer and the dude always knew how to blend in and dress well to get what he wanted. Not saying follow what a sociopath does, but image does give you access to things and it doesn't take a lot of effort.
