Nah that’s not the point, without internet/social media presence the video back then would have been mid

:what: the fukk does this even mean?

Scandals have always been worse when there caught in camera. The only difference is that there are way more cameras around today.

Scandals on video today have way more reach because of the internet/social media aspect. Copy that?

Very telling moment from Steve Kerr presser on Sat...

Monty Poole: "You guys have been through stuff with Draymond before, is trust in any way compromised?"

Kerr: "No comment"

:francis:

Also, his body language looks like he's going to explode.

Damn Draymond gone. That no comment was very telling. It also hurts GSW as a brand as long as he’s on the team.

I wonder if there is any team(s) in the league desperate enough to max him…that’s who’ll probably make a trade for him

Hawks and Blazers are the only teams I think he would have any real value for. Even then, a max is laughable.

It wouldnt….. was a different time back then

I mean hell there was events like FREAKNIK popping and the world was a lot less PC

No one really cared about other peoples feelings and hurting them. So back then things would’ve been more like :manny:

I work with a bunch of dudes that were born in the 60s and 70s. I showed the video of Draymond and they all hit me with the :picard:

This would’ve been big in the 80s too.

If that was remotely true, than why is the actual account of it used to glorify MJ's image? If folks have this account of a Black man slumping a white dude, then why isn't it ever brought up in argument against MJ's legacy? Why is every piece of narcissistic thread of MJ celebrated, no matter who it involves? What would a video change other than to amplify it?

Just look at how Kerr and Ernie talk about the incident -

Even Kerr, himself, frames it as if it were a teaching and bonding moment. He actually believes it helped their relationship. Here is two white men talking about it as if were some feel-good, coming-of-age story.

You had cats throwing punches and doing all types of dirty shyt during the 90s NBA (that's how that era is perceived, and why it's revered because of it's "toughness"), but you want me to believe there'd be a cosmic shift in how the world perceived arguably the greatest player of all-time, all because of the racial dynamic of him punching Kerr on video?

If The Last Dance showed unseen footage of MJ slumping him, do you think there'd be some crusade of white folks demanding that MJ get erased from the record books, or would everyone be busy making memes about it and talking about how MJ could've been a triple-sport athlete in basketball, baseball and boxing?

Again, this is why this frenzy as a result is less about the punch, and more about the perception of Draymond. He's always been seen as the angry Black man, well before this incident even occurred, which is why you have everyone in here bringing up his history. It's one of the main reasons why I've always stood in his corner, even when all these part-time keyboard militant muh'fukkas are on the other side dragging him up and down every thread. The joke writes itself.

MJ was never seen like that, which is why no punch caught on tape of a white player would've changed the perception of him. He's recognized as the sport's ultimate winner, and you know cotdamn well Amerikkka don't see him as a Black man because of that.

I'm not tough, hood, or street, but if one of us isn't removed from the situation we fighting until I feel I gotchu back as good as you got me.
