Kendrick is disgusted by Drake.
Kendrick’s music is about the struggle of being born into a violent impoverished environment as an oppressed minority.
Drake has spent the second half of his career pretending to represent everything Kendrick has struggled to escape while offering zero substance or social commentary. Just the “gangsta rap is cool” mentality of a suburban white boy who uses it as the theme of his bar mitzvah.
Drake is the ultimate poser to him.

Mad isn't the word. I think Kendrick thinks he caught Drake trying to circumvent competition and wasn't going for it. And for Drake, he just didn't understand how deeply Kendrick did not like him.
Yeah, this entire calling out Drake and Cole and then basically killing Drake in the public square is the opposite of humble. It's the utmost display of confidence/arrogance.

A lot of rappers embellish their gangsta and offer little to no substance in their music. Is Drake more offensive in that regard because he's white Canadian who is completely not from the culture?
Does he have a better excuse of being ignorant to what is detrimental to Black folks because he didn't grow up around Black folks? Or is it worse because his Mom brought him up to know better and not drop N bombs and in a safer environment?

That's just part of battling. You want to seem like the good guy, it helps perception wise on who won. Nas did the same thing to Jay Z/Rocafella. He subbed them to death and when they finally dissed back without sneak dissing Nas acted all appalled like they were picking on him while he was tending to his sick Mom. It's strategy.

Nah Nas was on defense that whole shyt. Jay tried to be slick and send Bleek at him. Smashing his baby mom's behind his back. nikka had whole verses dedicated to him regarding that before Takeover. Also, Drake has been sneak dissing Kendrick for years. He also tried to take credit for Kendrick's come up. He also watched Drake backstab people he is cool with and was offended by him trying to play gangsta among other things. He was also clearly offended in the way Drake dismisses slavery.
