Drake: [Kendrick] been doing the same bait and switch for 10 years where he drops a verse to hype everyone up and then nothing ever happens

This!

I just found out last week QUINCY JONES helped with dying of thirst

And yes I checked the samples. He was in fact a songwriter for the song.

Ain’t that something. Quincy Jones? Nah… That’s wild :ohhh:

Obviously Quincy didn’t write his raps but the kind of thought that went into GKMC I had that all on Kenny. Maybe his TDE brehs since they’re his crew/peers. Quincy though? :why:

Not in anyway equating this to ghost writing but its not nothing

Do you know how an album is made?

Especially rap. What rapper doesn't have a production team? Key word "rapper". Not producer rapper

Breh had the creative vision for his projects and collabed with people who could give him that sound. Kendrick is heavily involved in every part of the production process. It's not like he just drops a verse and verse and dips
The greats didn’t make music like that.

Don’t care how much “a part of it is” when you have quincy jones and dozens of other composers and writers working on the music, you don’t deserve full credit for the creativeness on display.

This is the new Kanye style of song making. Hire all the talented people you can find, get them in a room and come up with some shyt.

Jay-z ain’t have none of that. His songs were based on his own creativity alone.

Even some of Kendrick contemporaries like J.Cole don’t work like that. You can argue whose music is better but Cole made it to his spot producing most of his music himself, and even if he used another producer it was just to buy a beat. Not this whole dream team of producers and writers shyt

That’s what i’m saying.

It ain’t ghostwriting but it’s definitely something, especially considering all the credit he gets for concepts and “creativity”.

He got teams of people for that :francis:

Yeah even as a Kendrick fan I gotta keep it a buck, you want the smoke you should be ready immediately. It's exactly why Drake said "Not this time you following through." They both have been throwing shots at each other for years since Control so it is what it is I guess. Drake was really the only one butthurt about it so.

See Kanye said it best though. You can’t compete with the Adele’s and Taylor’s without bringing in other greats to compete

I get it. I think more should do it if they can afford it.

do wish Kendrick did more interviews and talked about the process more
