yea Drake is overrated

I mean I'm kinda a fan of him and I've heard all his albums & mixtapes except for Thank Me Later but he's not as nice as his stans say he is. His subject matter is repetitive (the soft simp shyt gets annoying after awhile), honestly he doesn't have much subject matter. He don't really be saying anything :heh:
he can't sing but he insists on doing it anyway, and plus he isn't as lyrical as some people say he is. I've heard people say he's a great lyricist:mjlol::bryan:

He's a good artist for sure, and when he's on, he's good lyrically but that's not all the time. I'd say he's average to above average lyrically most of the time

I like his early stuff better (Comeback Season :wow:)

The artists may be that age but they are catering to those younger age brackets and its those age brackets who will decide whos great

Im talking from an audience standpoint not artist

I call BS the artist is catering to anyone buying/supporting the artist work. Regardless of age. What you think 30 yr olds don't go to clubs, smoke weed, drank or tip strippas? What you mean is the younger age brackets determine who is great withing the era in their lives. But just because Illmatic came out in 94 while I was 12 doesn't mean people who where 31 when it came out don't get to have thoughts on the album.

i never liked anything by drake except "nothing was the same". but it was mostly the production that i thought was dope. "connect" is my shyt. other than that dude is horrible. "thank me later" was mediocre. was like somebody playing at rapping. "take care" wasnt that good either. dont know why hipsters act like its a landmark album. all the best moments on that album again belong to the guests and producers. i will admit songs like headlines, started form the bottom, and worst behavior i can fx with, but his new ish is just absolutely horrible. the worst yet.

Very true.

I haven't fukked with Drake really since So Far Gone and his hype has gone up while his music quality has took a dump. And his comeback season blah blah era wasn't that remarkable either. And that last tape was so fukking bad. :sadcam: I seriously want my hour of life back. Waste of time.

Lol at this n!gga being better than J. Cole as a rapper.
There is nothing lol worthy about that, as a fan of both who has listened to their entire catalogs I can tell you Cole is not better than Drake. Only thing Cole has on Drake is substance and storytelling (arguable).

Drake has every other aspect of MCing on him, double entendres, puns, punchlines, metaphors, far far better flow. Cole has never come close to pulling a double time flow like Drake on a song like HYFR. Drake has better projects from a commercial and critical perspective as well as general consensus. Cole's been outrapped by Drake on the same track and everything. If you listen to Cole and Drake they actually aren't that different stylistically at all. Drake and Cole stans are the same people.

A top 25 Drake verse list vs. A top 25 J. Cole verse list? Cole ain't seeing Drake.

Now I know a lot of gall ain't gonna like this, and it's just my opinion...and I'll admit he makes some songs I enjoy...but really there is nothing special about this cat at all. The only reason he gets as much shine as he does is because of his degrassi high appearance and his lil wayne/young money/cash money affiliation...As well, considering how absolutely TERRIBLE the talent pool is for rappers these days of course someone like him is gonna stand.

Personally (I'm getting my Lord Jomar on here)...i can't relate to this cat at all. There is no difference between him and the rich white boy in the burbs puffin blunts of loud in his daddy's beemer. He has no connection to the black struggle. He basically a white boy and a culture vulture. He makes music for rich white boys and gets them all geeked up and feeling themselves cause hes half whute/jewish but half black so he gives em a pass to say the word "n!gga" and white girls like him cause of the same reason and they would never fukk with full black rappers loke that. He makes songs for women in failed relationships and men that have become completely p*ssywhipped. He'll never be seen as a legend in my book simply because his material makes no impact and he has no meaningful songs. He'll never have a "dear mama" or "brenda's got a baby" and frankly it's disrespectful to even compare this soft ass cupcake ass nikka to Pac. Drake will never be a quarter of the man Pac was.

And when Mike Brown, kajime powell, tamir rice, John crawford, Eric garner, akai Gurley got gunned down by racist cops...where the fukk was this nikka? Nowhere to be found. At least J.Cole (a significantly better rapper and fellow biracial cat) was out there protesting and has shown numerous times he is down for the struggle. Drake just uses black culture to prop himself up and make himself look cool but he ain't black in my book. And if he was full black he'd be the biggest house n!gga EVER.

So, I tried not to make this a hate thread cause I didn't want to come out to be too biased but whatever. fukk Drake and everything he stands for.

this is true if you consider Drake a rapper which he is not

in fact he is a mere pop artist/singer who occasionally drops rap verses similar to Chris Brown but with a level of masculinity equal to that of Justin Beiber

Why the hell would you want to hear about black American struggle from a mixraced Canadian? Dude raps about what he knows. By the way he has talked about black struggle before

Picture when I was in school
Me being the closest thing to black
And guess what rap music what I was into

Rest of the kids were sheltered
I never liked to fight
But when someone called me a "nikka"
I'd punch em I couldn't help it

And your daddy want it very right
I make you happy, plus I'm Jewish, he don't approve

I think he want you to marry white
He want Sinatra at the wedding, not Barry White

Cause black is black honey, even if he's very light
And so I never been for dinner at they places
Always brutally honest, and so I pin it to they faces
I live it so the case is, whether Drake is way ahead of his time
Inquisitive or racist

Drake doesn't make music for rich white boys he makes music for everyone, for people of all walks of life that's why Drake get as much love in the hood as he does in the suburbs.

Except Cole isn't a better MC at all, if you actually listened to their entire catalogs track for track from the very beginning you'd know Cole isn't better than Drake. When it comes to rapping crafting records, using flows, writing lyrics; Cole is not better. Just because Cole made a few conscious tracks doesn't make him a better RAPPER. Drake and Cole have nearly identical content outside of those few "deep tracks", Cole has made.

The conscious lane isn't Drake's lane how about we stop looking to rappers to be political activists.

Iso, I respect your opinion but I disagree big time. Post the best, or your favorite, Drake verse off his last 2 albums and I'll post Cole verses from his last 2 that are better.

dumb smart square ass community college dropout nikkas like legacy and the ruler love to ride each others dikks. In order to act like their irrelevant ass opinions shared by a minuscule proportion of rap fans is actually something more than old ass flabby and sick birds dikkriding something they are too off brand to understand.
I actually graduated with a BA from the University of Pittsburgh, but thanks for making that assumption.
