The year 3030
A lot of yall really don’t pay attention. It shows because the crux of this issue has been in play since for all the dawgs but I’m convinced the majority of this forum and the internet does not pay attention to lyrics, read about what’s going on in the industry, or pay attention to interviews. I mean Vince staples indicated what this was about since the beginning of the beef around March or April. Drake’s been telling you in his lyrics this was how it was all going to play out since last October when he dropped FATD and then released scary hours. The majority of yall dismissed Taylor Made when he’s feeding you the information. Hell he predicts all of what happened on red button yet people were like where is the red button? Seriously.

You can’t have an honest discussion with people when you don’t even listen to what he’s saying in the lyrics or even believe anything he’s saying. Not to mention, we gonna conveniently forget how all these podcasters were looking into his deal with UMG throughout the beef. The shake ups that has been happening with the labels. Kendrick and Drake going back and forth throughout the beef about contracts and publishing.

About the numbers it never made sense that Family Matters numbers were so low after it was Drake’s official response to Euphoria. There was clear suppression especially for the bigger artist. I always said if Drake is UMG’s biggest artist and they usually juice the system in his benefit why did they turn off his juice when he was getting his *ss kicked. In fact, you saw NLU get the juice that Drake’s song would normally get.

It was all there for everyone to see but it’s easier to manipulate the audience to one narrative. Now you see the same ones that teamed up against him slowly backsliding like it never happened. Because the damage is done. Hurt the brand, hurt renegotiation talks. Don’t sell as much, hurts renegotiation talks. Why do you think all of these blogs and pages have been posting streaming numbers at an increased frequency for both Kendrick and Drake all year. Sure they would focus on 1st week streams, but now they focus on it damn never everyday.

I’m both a Kendrick and Drake fan and I enjoyed the beef immensely. I think all the songs together make a great body of work but if we are going to address these things, we can’t just be reductive on some oh he’s mad because he loss. It was always bigger than just rap.

If Kendrick would have sued UMG and spotify over Family Matters getting boosted, i would have clowned him.

If Nas would have sued Hot97 over playing Takeover more than Ether i would have clowned him.
An individual doesn’t matter

The general consensus would be that it’s a good thing he’s suing them. It’s facts

I hear people on here.

Some say Drake is crashing out etc.

But this is above the beef and will take time for me to process.

I like Drake and Kendrick.

And Drake IS under Universal Music Group.

This is more about industry corruption up at the top top.

Lies, false measurements, purchased "fame" for many.

This is a very heavy weighted/rebellious decision on Drake's part.

The majors are in bed with Spotify.

Here's to whatever happens - that in the end - all independent artists get a bigger cut of these jumbled up profits.

This is bigger than the Kendrick/Drake beef. It impacts all Spotify artists.

Edit. Coli brehs pointed out that Drake Prolly benefited from similar million dollar marketing.

It may be about Drake should be more grateful for he does have which is alot, plus $millions.

We'll see how this pans out.

I’ve said this before - Meek might be missing a few braincells, and he lost the battle but ultimately - I think he won the war - he induced the first chink in the armor with the ghostwriter/Quentin Miller/ref tracks exposal

Like, prior to that I think Drake was fully Teflon in public perception. Sure, purists never really took to his brand of pop hip-hop - but it was a dislike largely rooted in the music he made and what he represented.

After that Meek beef, his fame and success seemingly carried on unscathed but to many people - Kendrick included - there was now an asterisk next to his name.

Fast forward and look where we at. In summary, Meek is the retarded lil nikka you send on a kamikaze mission to blow the gate open so you can get a chance to scope through the opening once the smoke clears. He’s not the hero people wanted, but he’s the one they deserved

:mjlol:
