Disingenuous af.

Drake always had way more haters than Kendrick and Kendrick always had the white vote on his side which is massive when we're talking about something that is ultimately decided by public opinion via social media.

Act like the industry darling was the underdog, brehs.
They both industry darlings though. It ain't like Drake is Lupe Fiasco

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
There is not a hit song that isn’t botted to a certain point. It’s apart of the formula. I’ve seen it with Uzi, French everyone. He suing now because it’s going against him now. Nothing out of the ordinary happened with not like us. Typical narc shyt. And he’s not winning this lawsuit lol
Well I said nothing out of the ordinary happened with Not Like Us. I'm talking about the battle in general. Lol

The year 3030

no different from fukking burger king siding with Drake during Meek beef

Bruh, Pusha already had an unapproved sample then it was on an unofficial channel. Like what are we doing right now?
was the vid monetized? if it was then I can see why it was taken down.

If it wasn't monetized, this is no different from artists releasing songs/vids freestyles to other people's beats

you think this was anymore "authorized"?

That’s speculation because the filing doesn’t reference that definitively as a motive. Next, Drake instigated this beef 🥩 himself. UMG did not make him do it nor was Like That released by UMG. That was an Atlantic Records record. An argument can be made that him and his son were in cahoots, however, Kendrick responded to a record by J Cole and Drake. According to reports, the renegotiation was ongoing before the beef so Drake did this to himself.

I would bet that UMG advised against it from the onset but Drake was smelling himself. He shot a video and everything. KDot just responded in kind. Those are important facts that debunks a conspiracy. Can’t get mad that his mistake became advantageous for UMG if it is true.
Its not an actual lawsuit, thats why its not mentioned!!!

Jesus Christ. This is a PREMOTION :snoop:

It's amazing how Kendrick dropping after Family Matters means that in the eyes of the jury he won that round.

FM is objectively the best track of the entire beef from a pure rap POV
and the song that dropped immediately after has a whole ass verse to a daughter that doesn't even exist. shyt like that would get clowned back in the day but now none of that matters, only that he dropped immediately after so he by default gets the win.

Take me back to the 90s man :francis:

Ppl conveniently omitting Hiphop is a BLACK artform when they paint their delusional narratives are always interesting to observe..

No song sayin:
“out here rappin like you tryna set the slaves free”
Insinuating that’s even a bad thing, could EVER be a best song in ANYTHING CULTURALLY BLACK.

And you steppin over THAT just to focus on “technical rapping” just proves either you’re a KOON or you’re a RACIST.

One or the other.

I already said why it wasn't catchy. Also Family Matters was not the second most quoted. Damn near every other line on Euphoria is a quotable

"What is it? The braids?
I hurt your feelings? You don't wanna work with me no more? Okay"

"Them superpowers getting neutralized, I can only watch in silence"

"don't tell no lie about me and I won't tell truths 'bout you"

"Dementia must run in his family, but let it get shaky, i'll park your son"

"I pray they my real friends, if not, I'm YNW Melly"

"Yeah, fukk all that pushin' P, let me see you push a T,
You better off spinnin' again on him, you think about pushin' me
He's Terrence Thornton, I'm Terence Crawford, yeah, I'm whoopin' feet"

"I'm the biggest hater
I hate the way that you walk, the way that you talk, I hate the way that you dress"

"How many more Black features 'til you finally feel that you're Black enough?
I like Drake with the melodies, I don't like Drake when he act tough"

"Headshot for the year, you better walk around like Daft Punk"

"When I see you stand by Sexyy Red, I believe you see two bad bytches
I believe you don't like women, it's real competition, you might pop ass with 'em"

"I'm knowin' they call you The Boy, but where is a man? 'Cause I ain't seen him yet"

"Try cease and desist on the "Like That" record?
Hoe, what? You ain't like that record?
"Back To Back, " I like that record
I'ma get back to that, for the record"

I could go on but I think my point has been made. Family Matters was not getting quoted like Euphoria.

I have heard and seen "Kendrick just opened his mouth..." probably more than this entire list.

You've completely removed all context surrounding the reaction to those disses.

Nobody had time to really process Family Matters when Meet the Grahams hit, with folks being caught unawares, thinking how the hell did Kendrick reply so soon and naturally they're going to gravitate towards listening to that because it's more of a surprise. It was the shock of responding so soon that got cats' attention; popularity has little to do with it.

It was a genius move because Kendrick didn't allow the public to consume and digest Family Matters before giving us something hot off the stove.
What do you mean no one had time to process? No one held a gun to any listeners head to listen to MTG. The night that Family matters dropped was the same night MtG dropped. How anyone can justify saying the world listened to MTG but not FM doesn’t make sense especially since logically MTG comes after FM? The problem is the narrative falls apart right there so everyone decided they were only going to listen to Kendrick’s disses and not Drake’s (the artist with the bigger reach whom everybody was waiting for a response to Euphoria and 616 that dropped earlier that day). The numbers don’t always give the full truth but there were clear discrepancies since day 1.

Everyone keeps saying this was a genuine chess move by Kendrick while blatantly ignoring that somehow he was tapped into everything Drake was doing ahead of time. Boldly stating so in 616. Which makes sense to why he hints that he knows what Drake is going to say on FM and why MTG was ready to drop immediately after and NLU the following day. These things don’t happen without coordination. We are to believe UMG sat idly by while the two biggest artists go at yet being completely silent as their cash cow get slaughtered on the world stage. Unlikely.

Drake dropped his song and video at 11pm on a Friday night, Kendrick released his song about an hour later.

There was no suppression; Kendrick was playing chess while Drake and his ghostwriters were playing Hungry Hungry Hippos.
No Drake dropped at midnight. MTG came out 20-40 minutes later. How are you going to argue about suppression and not bring up the numbers. It doesn’t add up.
