No, I just think nikkas need to realize and accept that they're old. Counting streams makes perfect sense in this era.

Except I was just in a party chat with highschoolers the other day and they had a deep thought provoking conversation about Logic while playing Dark Souls 3. Not to mention my 12 year old nephew is a fan of logic (actually bought his album and plays his album regularly on spotify). So my 12 year old is part of a machine? FOH.

My point is that they can't use a linear formula they need an asymmetric representation with regards to official singles. Perhaps 3k should be equivalent to one sale instead of 2.5k or something or it should also be a multiplier function of the other songs.

I wouldn't say perfect because singles are included in the album now.

So if Becky only likes One Dance and Hotline Bling, in the 90s she would buy those. There's obviously some probability that she would buy the album of the strength of those but there's also a probability that she would only buy the singles. That's why I think streaming can be a perfect if it's an asymmetric function of the songs. Instead of a linear as it is now.

Other than that streaming is perfect in every way from environmentally to international representation for G-unit stans. You can probably even stratify the listeners in age group, region and shyt in a very simple way.

But even if it's 3k it's still platinum off of one song.

If you want to be clear, I'm in between both generations, mostly the new, and I think this new era has it right. If I remember right, the old school artist WERE going platinum off of one song then (Chingy, Lil Flip). The only difference was that one song came with a video and played on MTV/BET.
