Counting streams is obviously the correct thing but it's not a perfect measure, you can go platinum if people only listen to one song. So people like Pitbull and Flow rider can now go plat, which obviously doesn't reflect the activity of their album but of that machine promoted single.

What Drake did was smart (but difficult), he dropped an album full of singles. It's singles for different people. While I might only play 3 songs (hype, Weston road flow and Views), I play them constantly which makes it seem like I play the album all the time and generates sales for Drake. Some other cat might only like the slow songs, then of course the big singles and on.

So all in all no one might actually fukk with the album, they just have 2-3 songs that they really fukk with.
People bought albums and listened to only one song back in the day

Hiphop wasn't universally accepted and popular in those days, so thats an irrelevant comparison :francis:

These days, Kanye did "crazy" numbers with TLOP a few months earlier. Then Views dropped and made those numbers look small AF :wow:
Tlop came and went

Come on man. The general opinion is this album sucks. The chart positions are the only reasons people talk about it.
You hear nothing but Drake on Social and especially snapchat

Drake has never had a well received project among Hiphop heads

How can general consensus be that it sucks and the numbers show its getting played more than any album we've seen in a long time

Aren't about 15 of the songs on the charts?

No, I just think nikkas need to realize and accept that they're old. Counting streams makes perfect sense in this era.

The Coli says artists like Logic are irrelevant. So his numbers are milked right? Except I was just in a party chat with highschoolers the other day and they had a deep thought provoking conversation about Logic while playing Dark Souls 3. Not to mention my 12 year old nephew is a fan of logic (actually bought his album and plays his album regularly on spotify). So my 12 year old nephew is part of a machine? FOH.

This girl I was fukking with that was 18-20 throughout our relationship, she was a legit fan of Chance. The Coli, which is mostly old heads that the game passed by, says Chance is a plant nobody who no one listens to, that has only an internet presence due to milking. So she has to be part of the machine too right? WRONG.

Yaw nikkas are just old. The last albums I bought were on Apple. That's the world that we live in now. 100 million people know who Drake is, so 100 million people bumping Drake makes perfect sense. Only to an old pocket watcher who believes that no one makes it without cheating (jealousy) would continue pushing this narrative.
