Kendrick pulled Alexander the Great tactical manoeuvres to shut this record down

Keeping my overhead low, and my understand high
He spent way too much on the Dave free angle on here. It definitely didn’t catch on like he thought it would.

I'm not gonna say he spent too much time on it but it definitely didn't catch on.

Reason being, Kendrick's fans don't care.

Pusha's reveal caught on because Drake's fans cared cause they want to know everything about him

The shyt ain’t even that deep. Jesus…:mjlol:

Anyway, this was by far Drake’s best outing in this battle. Push Ups was elementary aAF, Taylor Made was trash…this went hard, unsubstantiated bars and all…if this the last drake track I ever listen to, I can at least give the Canadian a slight head nod.
Nah but yall don't get it.... It's Jermaine not like Jermaine Cole but like Jermain Jackson! Get it! :mjlol:

I literally had a Kendrick fan today tell me he don't care if Kendrick beats women everyone already knew that. I'm like wtf? Lol. This is a white kid in real life that said this. Lol.

Get the white kids out of your orbit

Kendrick’s own bars Drake kept it real and showed him genuine love unlike other rappers at that point in his career, initiated him into the rap game, Drake exposed him to vanity/rich nikka shyt, he hints in this verse he was jealous of Drake and Drake gave him game on the industry.

Hit me on the cellular, thought he was gonna sell me a false word like the rappers I know
Sat down with a few drinks, located where you can't see us
A white waitress on standby when we need her
A black Maybach, 40 pulled up Jeep
No doors, all that nikka was missin' was Aaliyah
Felt like the initiation, a reality livin' in the matrix
We talk casually about the industry
And how the women be the tastemakers for the shyt we makin'
Then he said that he was the same age as
Myself, and it didn't help 'cause it made me even more rude and impatient
So blame it on Mr. OVOXO
The reason why I'm breathin' all the vanity I know
:heh: the verse is literally saying the opposite.

The matrix is fake. Drake is offering him/trying to initiate him into it.

the tastemakers line is interesting, but i take it as Kendrick's makes music he feels inspired to do.......Drake is telling him you gotta create your music based on what other people (in this case women) will like/buy

"blame it on" Drake, up for interpretation, but i take it as saying blame it on Drake if i kill the real artist in me......and just do shyt for vanity, pop, money, and fame.

Rest of the verse he says.....reason why my best friend say she love me more than life, but i live a double life and gotta let her go.....(which reminds me that Jay got similar bar on Lost Ones)...Drake says you belong to the people when you outside.....so bury your (true)self with money, power, and p*ssy...then I (my true self & artistry) die

If you loop back to beginning of the song......"if you was in a pine box.......i would surely break the lock....I'd jump right in and fall asleep cause you are the death of me" alluding to pop/mainstream

Did you not watch Matrix?

I get the love part, but I don't see how the rest of it is a positive observation of Drake
