I bring up "everybody else" because if you've been paying attention to all the debates over the last 5 years or so since the QM references came out, you would have heard many veterans in the game come out and admit that everyone gets help with hooks, lines, and verses from time to time.

D-Dot damn near had a heart attack on Drink Champs recently arguing with the whole table about how much nikkas got "help" back in the day.

Convo starts around 55:00, writing talk starts at 1:03:00

And yes, I'm calling Meek and Push frauds because it's a known fact that neither one of them nikkas was living the lives they rap about before rap.

They are rap nikkas that were around nikkas who lived the lives they rap about.

I live 20 minutes from where Push and Malice grew up and I'm out the Beach damn near everyday.

They are SUBURBAN kids.

There is one hood in VA Beach, Atlantis, where Pharrell grew up.

The rest of that shyt is nothing but big houses, mansions, beach houses, and tree lined cul-de-sacs with manicured lawns.

As far as Meek goes, Beans and AR-AB have both spoke on the fact that Meek was just a kid who rapped and never lived nothing close to street life he portrays in his raps before he got on.

The same Beans and Ab who once co-signed how “street” Meek was coming up, then once they fell out, they retracted those statements :russ:

What rapper before Drake spoke openly about having a ghostwriter (or credited, but unknown rapper) recording reference tracks?

You didn’t think that was a big and unexpected revelation at the time?

To answer your question, Sugar Hill Gang, Eazy, Cube, Puff, Dre, Ghost, and Will Smith had all either admitted to or it was known that they had help writing their raps.

But, Drake never spoke openly about having a ghostwriter.

When you say that, you make it seem like he has a nikka (or team of nikkas) that actually sits down and writes whole songs for him and he just performs them.

He admitted that he had help.

When he did, I had already come to grips with the fact that writers in hip hop, just like writers in any other genre/art form that requires writing, sometimes get writers block and requires other talented writers to help get their mojo back.

I had to come to grips with this when the whole Supurb/Ghost shyt came out years before when folks was saying Ghost was so high out of his mind during the recording of Supreme Clientele that Purb had to help him out to meet the deadline.

When I sat down, took my fan hat off, and looked at it logically, it made sense.

Doesn't take anything away from Ghost's pen.

I just understood at the moment, that this "culture" we call hip hop is really just a business.

Its an over exaggeration.

Everybody that’s being honest with themselves knows Drake is a writer, he ghostwrites for other people, wrote R&B songs for others and all that.

I’m sure he’s had verses penned for him as well but that’s the nature of the business.

Fam...

Writers credits for Anthony Palman:

That's 20 joints, that are credited.

It appears that a rapper (a good one), that you never, ever hear from is involved in a hell of a lot of the rapping that Drake does.

:francis:

He got a conveyor belt of musicians, making music for him in two different genres. All that "Drake wrote" for blank is not an excuse for that. nikkas outchea wholeselling raps :mjlol:

That's always y'all go-to reply ... "step outside"

Yeezy's are hyped, yes. But don't go reiterating Kanye talking points like when he said he was the highest paid sneaker guy as if Jordan doesn't still make $125 million A YEAR from shoes, which is almost Kanye's entire net worth.

And VaporMax have been just as hyped and big as Yeezy's recently ... but you know that because you're outside.

You clearly don’t know what the fukk you’re talking about.

And a second thing, off White popped off because nikkas saw Kanye in it and it took off from there.

The same meek that’s doing time from 10, 15 year old probation sentences?
