The narrative is that Ye is obsessed with drake but drake pretty much made a whole album about kanye.
Drake always got ahead because of his talent but the media ignoring his beige rage is the first time I can say he got lightskin privilege.
But that privilege didn’t help as it distracts from the processing and picking apart of the album.
All Kanye said on DONDA is that u sound like him among a few other lines here and there, but drake sending full on death threats is corny. He trying too hard with this heel turn. Has to be label orchestrated.
Hard to just be about the music when they tryna maintain your image as a main eventer and main attraction.
But as always I enjoy the pop raps and r&b. I didn’t discover sandras rose until years after scorpion so maybe i’ll feel that way about the rapping later on.
Ever since views, his hardcore raps generally take a backseat to me. Songs like 30 for 30 and weston road flows are a vibe, but it’s boring and he rambles.
It took me by storm when he decided to go back to his j dilla raps.
it’s interesting because he was a borderline bad and completely uninteresting rapper during that dilla RFI phase.
now that he returned to this style after a decade of being an elite rapper, I can see me enjoying his new finger snapping cafe dilla raps. we’ll see.
until then, im gon rock wit this autotune r&b/pop rap that never fails me
