I gave this a few more listens and it grew on me a bit but I can’t play it front to back like I could with Views or Scorpion. I mostly just keep going back to Love All, Fair Trade, TSU, 7AM, the joint with Ty$, the Ross and Wayne joint, the Cudi joint, and the outro. So give or take about half the album I actually like.

This sounds like old Drake, this new album is hit and miss. It also sounds lazy in some parts. Even if he's rapping.

To be honest the man just makes good songs.. drake is just really familiar.. reliable. He gives you exactly what you expect from him.. He’s a genuinely dope artist.. The issue with me, though is at his stature and being a revered artist, adored by industry peers and culture alike, he doesn’t really ‘transcend’ ..arstically. The man plateaued too early and It seems that at this point he’s become somewhat unremarkable.. enjoyable, but almost disposable.. it’s easy listening that can act like a backdrop for everyday living, but’s it’s almost vanilla.. almost sound like a compilation record of interchangeable sounds that could go on anything he’s made in the last 3-4 years.

Album is legit to me, but I've never ever been able to sit through complete drake albums outside of EP's and things like that. It's always like 4-6 songs I really like 3 are straight and then like the rest I don't like at all (usually the singing tracks)
With that said I think I have more songs on a drake play list (including features) than I have from any other artist play list. If I put on my drake play list it's literally like a 6 hour mix. The only other artist I have that comes close to that clocks in at almost 3.
Drake basically has peaked and that isn't a bad thing, but he has a legacy and some experimental album could ruin that. I curious if he takes a different route next time.
In the meantime this album gets a solid 7.8/10 from me. The good tracks are REALLY good and the bad tracks are pretty meh... On top of the album being like 4 songs to long.
