NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
Anecdotes of course

My larger point is that people have access to so much and there’s so many different ways to listen music that the idea that most fans are running albums back over and over and over is not happening much anymore

if you take a poll on how many albums you listened to more than 5 times this year it wouldn’t be many at all for a lot of people when that use to be the norm
U move goal posts a lot based on the artist. U wasn’t saying this shyt about Ye with his bloated ass album. Anyway. Albums very much matter and I’m damn sure not making no damn playlist from albums Ionno bout someone else. That being said I don’t think this is as bad as people makin in here. I mean. It’s Drake. And u get Drake. Nothing groundbreaking but it def has some vibes on here. He blacked on a few songs as well.

My main issue is keeping the best tracks and trying to make a cohesive album with high replay value not an album that sole purpose seems to be geared to streaming and making rap caviar playlist type tracks.

Take Care felt like a moment, NWTS felt like a moment, even IYRTITL did. I thought we were headed in the right direction with DLDT. But it’s back to over inflated albums with no cohesion or direction.

That’s fair and I agree to an extent.

On first listen this album has no real highs apart from YOLT to me.

I think it was apparent it would be this way as this is the first time he dropped with no huge lead single on an official album.
Laugh Now Cry Later would have been one of the best songs on this album. Which is crazy cause I thought that was just a decent track when it first dropped.

It has less highs and lows than Scorpion, not many terrible songs but also not a lot of songs that grab your attention.

Even most of the rapping ass songs just felt like you heard that from Drake before. That could be to do with the samey production it already felt like tracks you heard from him before.

Overall it's cool. He just seems on autopilot as of now.

Yeah... This ain't for me. I was listening to Get Along Better this morning and was actually paying attention to it.

Midway through the song I started thinking "This is some young adult shyt".

If you're in your 30s and can relate to that kinda shyt, you need to seek therapy. That song and most of this album shows that there is no growth in this dude mentally and possibly emotionally, which I think effects him artistically.
