Stop it nikka don't ever compare one piece to dragon ball they not in the same stratosphere. In one piece all the characters get some shine in Dragonball beside goku all the side characters are cannon fodder

Luffy even showed up in the dragon ball manga

And no One Piece characters have little side fights that drag out the main event of Luffy beating someone's ass

Zoro is the only real capable fighter besides Luffy in that crew

I agree with what dude said earlier. Its 2015, the new era of anime has evolved. toriyama cant just go to his kitchen, whip up the old recipe, serve it to us. Nah. DBZ must raise its game.

We need more detailed and complex plots, with multiple characters having their own agendas and goals they're after...we need it to be a mass battle on a large scale.

not just what Buu saga / GT was in which villain flies around, goofing off. Buu might as well had a pack of malboro reds, a 40 of malt liquor; dude was aimless for a huge stretch of the saga.

Android / Cell saga is a great example of what DBZ can be at its best.

that's what I'm sayin breh...In my opinion dbz gradually started to fall off after Vegeta sacrificed himself
Also a big thing I liked about the original story is that it was just as much Gohan's coming of age story as it was about Goku's struggles
In fact with Goku half the time I think he ended up getting more screen time in Z
When you take that aspect of the story away it just feels incomplete

This is the reason why Cowboy Bebop as an anime >>>> Dragonball. Spike Spiegel didn't need 4,000 episodes and 400 spinoffs to make his statement as GOAT. He did it in 26 episodes and a movie.

You DO realize that they are two different things right?

It's almost like comparing the Fast & Furious Franchise with something like Man On Fire. One was MEANT as a franchise that can go on seemingly endlessly and one is a self-contained story that has a beginning, middle, and end.


DBZ isn't meant to truly "end" the shyt could literally go on forever

Yep Gohan was clearly meant to beat Buu after dieing after the original encounter and then getting the mystic power up. Arrived on the battlefield and then gets beat the fukk up by Buu straight up sabotage and I'm not even a fan of the character.
